The benefits of UV light filtration are numerous: but UV filters can be expensive (why?) or they can be affordable like this one! This filter was easy to install, so easy to clean, the suction cups are incredible and still works perfectly after months of everyday use. I love that it creates a water flow through the tank while adding aeration (and volume of airflow is so easily adjusted!)I love that you do not need any additional equipment and it can replace your bubbler.My water quality has never been better or more consistent and the added bonus of the UV light preventing algae growth and parasites= win+ win!

Received the item undamaged. Sponge filter is a large-celled material. Inspected the UV light - no cracks and came on with power. Couldn't see the indicator light at all to let me know the light was working. Washed all pieces in clean water before I put it into my tank. Turned it on - no option to turn the UV light off separately - and the unit immediately began to smell like burned plastic. It stank so badly the tank water began to reek of burning plastic and I could smell it from several feet away. I removed the unit and inspected it - no melting plastic or discoloration or any indication that the unit was malfunctioning. Placed the unit in the tank and let it run overnight. In the morning all of my fish were dead and the entire first floor reeked of burning plastic. Removed the unit - nothing. No signs of malfunctioning or damage to the unit. Returned immediately. Run, run, run away if you value your pets.

The media could not be loaded. The Dozont Aquarium filter with UV worked well at clearing out small pond algae problem. The combination of heat and direct sunlight cause green algae water and we had tried various chemical products to clear the problem. The UV filter did a great job of clearing the green water, from thick green to transparent! It took 5 days to get cleared enough to see the bottom and plants. We are planning to put Koi and Goldfish in next but will allow time to insure that the clarity stays. The filter was easy to assemble, just right size for our pond, vary quiet and as stated, it worked.

If you have a fish tank. You will need one of these for your tank if don't want green water. This U-V Filter works really well. Things you need to know. 1 The cord cracks over time and the wire show right were it goes into the powerhead lost a big koi to this. 2 The bulb needs to be changed ever 6 moths take my word for it. 3. Check the seal on the bulb the o rings take a beating from the UV and leak. 4 Open the filter housing and clean the filter no less then 1 a month and pop off the lid on top were all the crap get stuck. and hopefully yours will last. Still I seem to have to buy at least 1 or 2 replacements a year

Set up a new tank and I knew it was fully cycled. But had a white algae bloom then it went to a green algae bloom. Tried everything to get rid of it kept getting worse. Little skeptical about this UV filter. When I got it set it up did a 50% water change. Let the pump run for 24 hours for 4 days and it was completely clear. For a week I ran it for 2 hours every day just to make sure it was completely gone. Definitely would buy again definitely works if you do it you're supposed to do into a 50% water change. If I wouldn't have it probably would have took 2 weeks and please don't stare at my wife in the corner LOL

Received this filter and it’s quiet but the IV light does not work. It’s helping to keep the tank semi clear
