No broken pieces.

The hole in the center isn't big enough to push the roots through like in the pictures. I used a few too glue water column plants too. I'm considering crushing them up and use under the soil in the back of the tank too add some height

I just returned them and didn't open all the way and have no idea if any broken. My complaint is it says right in product description they are 1"D x 1"W x 1"H. That is the size I needed and I could tell right away they were not that. I got out tape measure and they are 3/4" next x 3/4" x 3/4". That makes hole a lot smaller to try and get roots in and is next to impossible. Do all the sellers that have these the same looking ones are not showing accurate information when they show 1" x 1" x 1".

They come tossed in a bag so expect a few to be broken. Had 2 broken when I opened the package.

I have fish who like to dig and routinely end up digging up the plants in my aquarium. These plant rings keep my plants firmly in the soil and won't choke the plants.

Great rough surface for Java Ferns to attach to, also promotes beneficial bacteria colonies with its rough porous texture. In the past I have had trouble getting Java Ferns to stay put before they attach with their roots, but this is an easy effective solution. I would recommend this to any aquarist.

With the broken and disformed I didn't the full 30 but only 28.
