I used these to illuminate a couple of 304 stainless steel hemispheres in a 3D print for my son's Christmas gift: an oxygen destroyer replica from 1954's 𝘎𝘰𝘥𝘻𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢. The brightness was exactly what I was expecting and hoping to achieve. It's advisable NOT to look directly at them as they are *far* brighter than one would expect from such a small package. I paired these with some aluminum heatsinks, and used some CPU thermal paste between the LED and heatsink, to help transfer and dissipate the heat. While they don't get too warm (with heatsinks) - weighing in at around 89°F - if you try to run them without heatsinks, they will become too hot to hold in very short order. As such, it's highly advisable to use heatsinks and something to transfer the heat away from the LED (don't just dry mount them). The off-axis illumination was perfect, providing a nice, wide pattern of light that the polished 304 SS hemispheres redirected into each other. Overall, I'm very, very pleased with the end result and would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a very bright light in a very small package.

With only the chanzo heat sink, these guys got pretty hot. I mounted that heat sink to a piece of aluminum, with some thermal compound, and the temp dropped dramatically. They are just warm to touch if you dissipate all that heat they produce. Ran them for 20ish minutes with no noticeable change to the temperature. A lot of reviews complain about the lifespan of these LED. I'm thinking they aren't dealing with that heat effectively. Side note.... don't mess around with these guys without some eye protection. They are bright! I'll update if there are issues after some run time.

These are great little chips for the price. Driven at just over 6V, they put out around 600 microeinsteins of photosynthetically-active radiation (measured a few centimeters from the chip using a Li-Cor quantum sensor) but I had one meltdown while testing it (although admittedly I wasn't using a heat-sink). I'm running these closer to 5.5V to avoid thermal runaway and they are giving off nearer to 100 microeinsteins at this voltage with almost no heating of the chip.

I've purchased hundreds of Chanzon LEDs for my projects and have yet to have an inconsistent output or defective LED. I would highly recommend these.

Love the LED. Would have been nice if it came with a data sheet in the box. Very bright and because I read they get hot I added a large heat sink, now just slightly warm when run at full power. Perfect replacement for my yard projector lamp.

Great LEDs, I needed only 3 for my project, repairing a swimming pool light. was easy using the backplate and an LED driver PS 18- 34Vdc. which really would be the best bet @ 600 ma output. So far it is working great, Thank you.

I bought this leds to fix my burnt aftermarket angel eye bulbs on a BMW. They we're the exact replacement I was looking for. They are bright, but not as bright as the original ones. Measured out 3500 lumens a pair of leds vs 8000 lumens the original ones had. Color was great match though (cool white), not too blueish, simply pure cool white.

Watch your voltage and current! I have two left that I haven't burned up yet. Was using a Mean Well LDD-600LW powered at 9vdc (600mA CC Driver with a 3vdc Drop). At 6vdc driven at 600mA, on Star Boards attached to Aluminum Bar Stock. These things melted into oblivion and fell off the star boards. At first I thought maybe my drivers were outputting too much current, but after some more testing just with my bench power supply I found that was not the case. These seem to run OK at 6vdc and about 300mA meaning these are worth about 1.5W

Very bright but heavy on battery current for an LED. These devices are bought because they are economical but not the Chanson ones. Also note. When these devices are sold it should be made clear if 5W is an equivalent value or an actual current drawn.
