this is literally a scum product.we bought two of them used every day for months. zero result.One cracked the device after a nicknack fall on it, the inside is a recidivous coil that is supposed to affect you magnetically. Stay away!

Update 5/19/17:I'm so sad. I have been having migraines again this week and not feeling quite myself. I went to get my ELF band out today and it is broken. I don't even know how this happened becasue it's been in the drawer of my nightstand. I was very careful with it. I'm still wearing it in the hopes it still works. Sad day indeed.----------------------------------------------------I just don't know about this. The day it arrived, I had a massive migraine; a laying in bed in the dark, all my techniques and meds failed, and husband had to come home to take care of the kids migraine. My husband brought this in after it arrived. I didn't realize there was a setting to help with migraines (improve sleep mode) so I immediately put it on and tried the reduce stress mode. I wore it through 4 cycles. I actually thought it was helping as I was able to go to the kitchen and eat dinner while wearing the headband. Shortly after dinner, I started feeling horrible again and realized that current cycle had ended. Started the cycle again and my headache was gone for the rest of the night.I have used it for insomnia and within 5 minutes was tired enough to take it off and fall asleep. Unfortunately, I woke up wide awake a few hours later.The first time I used it in concentration mode, I had a headache after the cycle.I'm not sure if it works or if it's psychosomatic. The headband itself is rather flimsy. I haven't had any issues with it falling apart, but I would be hard-pressed to pay full price for this easily bendable plastic headband and unsure if it's effective. I'm sure the plastic used was to try and accommodate all head sizes. I know my husband has a much bigger cranium than I do, and I was worried he'd break it when he tried it on. 😬So, although it may or may not work, I will continue to use it, but if I had paid full-price I could understand the other reviewers disappointment with quality.

The ELF emmit Active reminds me of a controversy that occurred in Wisconsin perhaps back in the 1970's. The navy was installing a submarine communication system that was to be buried in Northern Wisconsin and transmit low frequency radio waves through the ground all of the way to the ocean. People were afraid of what effect they would have. The name of the project was ELF. I wonder if the transmittable waves in this devise are in any way related to those waves used in the Navy Project.In any case... to judge a devise like ELF emmit is difficult. It is a purely subjective thing since it has mostly to do with feelings and ones judgement of those feelings and mental activities. Any results are also anecdotal in nature.That being said, this is what I experienced. I tried the Stress Relief and Improve sleep the most. Because of a physical condition that I have, there is a crunching sound in my left ear that comes and goes. When I used the Stress Relief and some of the other settings, I had an increase in this sound. When using the Improve Sleep, the crunch would not be present or diminish. I used the Improve Sleep setting many times.I have trouble getting back to sleep when I get up in the night, which generally occurs 2-4 times a night. After using the Improve Sleep during the days for about a week, I had 3 consecutive nights that I slept through the night ( about 7-8 hours). I have not experienced that for over 10 years. Unfortunately on the fourth night, things reverted back even though I continued using the Improve Sleep setting during the day. I am still hopeful that this will help in sleeping.I wear hearing aids and was not sure about wearing them during the ELF treatment, so I remove them at those times. Also I found that the head band would not stay very close to my head unless I leaned back onto it by putting my head back on the couch. It tended to pull out and be about 1/2 to 1 inch from the back of my head otherwise. The App is easy to use and setting the treatment very simple. I did not experience any negative effects from the use of ELF.

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my ELF Emmit. Downloaded the app from the code on the back of the box. Easy peezy. Then I signed up using my Facebook sign in and started off with the Stress Relief program. I had just been online with a cell phone company to order new phones with a special promo of buy one get one and by the time that was done, and after jumping through all the hoops and being stressed like nobody's business, I was so happy to run out to the mailbox and get this. I tore it open immexdiately, started the Stress Relief App and I already feel less anxious. I still have 11 minutes left out of a 29 minute session and I feel better already. I don't feel as stressed, my leg is shaking and I feel calm. Now I want to explore the other programs within the app and try them. I have ptsd, anxiety and depression and it just doesn't take much for me to get worked up. This is helping me right this minute. I might have to wear this several times a day and maybe at night too. Wouldn't it be nice to not have to take three different medications for depression and anxiety?

Cord looked thin and flimsey so it used sparingly and cautiously. Unit ceased working after 8 uses.
