A Solid and Inexpensive Protective Case
Let me first mention that the screen protector on this is not tempered glass. I didn't want tempered glass. I wanted plastic. If you want tempered glass, then this case is not for you. I wanted plastic, however, so I bought this case. I just prefer the responsiveness of plastic to that of tempered glass. This case is basically identical to others that I've used over the years, all of which have done their jobs admirably. I've broken a few over the years by being your basic klutz, but the phones inside the cases have always survived unscathed. In fact, when I replaced the phones and sold them, they were always in mint condition, having been literally untouched by human hands since being placed in their cases. The cases took the abuse I hurled at them -- sometimes at the cost of their own lives -- but they protected the phones inside of them.In fact, this case replaces another case just like it (albeit with a different brand name) that I broke. So why did I buy an identical case if the other one broke? Because the case broke, not the phone. That's the basic idea of using a big, bulky case like this: to protect the phone from my klutziness. And it did just that. So I bought another. The LG V20 is one of the last -- maybe the last -- high-end phones with a removable battery. I plan to be buried with mine because I refuse to pay good money for a phone that I have to throw out when the battery won't hold a charge. So I wanted something tough, and this case is tough. It does not, however, have a battery door. So if you want to swap batteries frequently, then this case is not for you. If you replace the battery every 18 months like I do, then it is.The only caveat is that the plastic screen cover is designed to protect the screen from fingers, not hammers, rocks, or nuclear missiles. Tempered glass probably would be tougher. So if you're an even bigger klutz than I am, maybe you want to think about that. For me, I prefer the responsiveness of a plastic screen; and since I rarely take hammers, rocks, or missiles to my phone's screen, this protector does an admirable job, even though it's only plastic.RichardUPDATE: I just ordered and received another of these cases. Why, you ask?Well, it's like this. I may be old, but I'm also very active. I fly airplanes, climb mountains, take photographs from railroad bridges, maintain my own vehicles and power equipment, and do all sorts of other things that cause my big phones -- I like big phones -- to get dropped, banged against things, and generally suffer all manner of indignities and insults.Because of this, I've broken a lot of these cases and belt clips over the years. But never -- not once -- has a phone inside one of these cases been damaged in the process. So I consider it a fair trade: Replacing an inexpensive case once in a while is much nicer than replacing an $800.00 phone. So when I break one of these cases, I buy another one just like it.This time around I actually broke the belt clip rather than the case. The case itself is in good enough shape that I didn't bother changing it. I'll save it for the next time I drop the phone from a railroad trestle or something along those lines. In summary, these big, clunky cases and their equally clunky belt clips may not make a fashion statement, but they sure do a good job protecting phones from damage.Richard

The screen cover is horrid. It is SLIGHTLY elevated, so as the phone heats up, moisture in the air will gather under the surface of the screen and when you press, it sticks as if you have spilled water on the face. It's OK. It's a clone for the Unicorn series from Supcase.Supcase does not have a LGV20 case out yet, so I picked this one up.It's a PAIN to separate the pieces, though. My plastic screen detached when I removed the top to clean what I thought was water, from the surface of the phone. If you want this case, pick it up. Just MAKE SURE you purchase a gorilla glass screen protector and remove the junk plastic provided. I will keep mine until Supcase pushes out their cases for this. I would rather spend 10.00 for 40 days of protection, that not spend a penny and risk a 700.00 phone smashing to pieces

Its no unicorn beatle
Good solid case. However there is a gap between screen protector & screen so some touches don't register and u have to re type quit a few times. But for 10 bucks cant complain. Shipping took almost a week even tho it was a prime eligable shipping.

This case does leave air bubbles under the plastic screen protector due to the curve of the phone. It is bulky but for a heavy in=mpact case it is smaller than most. I tore out the plastic screen protector and put a glass protector on my phone.

As others say, the screen protector bulges out from the screen...
It's true, the built-in screen protector bulges out and away from the screen, making it difficult to touch the phone's display. I have to press firmly to register the touch. Heat seems to make it worse. After using it in the sun and having the case in my pocket, the bulge got worse. I had to break the seal on the glue that holds the protector along its sides so that it could expand without bulging as badly. It's usable now, but there's still an air gap.The case itself is OK. It's very lightweight and the edges are smoother and harder than I thought they would be. They look rubbery in the pictures, but they feel smoother than you would think. The sides are also very hard to pry apart from the case. I have to start at the bottom around the charging port. Once you put the case together around your phone, you don't have to worry about it coming off: it won't! The sides lock on very well for me.The back of the case is solid black with a brushed texture. I thought it was gray from the pictures, but it really isn't. The texture on the back shows scratches and scratches very easily because it's hard plastic.Overall, it's not a bad case, but it's not a great case either. I'll keep it for a while until it starts to show its age and get a different brand.
