Purchased two different STK chargers for our Nikon D3100 and D7000 cameras, respectively, that we took on a big family vacation. We knew we needed car charger versions since we were camping where no outlets were available, and wanted them from a company with good reviews. We couldn't find a Nikon brand charger with a car charger capability, which surprised me. But the STK brand did great on the trip, charged the batteries like they should, and took about as long as the Nikon brand chargers. The color changes on the LED when the charge is complete. They are both physically smaller, approximately 1/2 size of OEM, and lightweight. Each charger comes with a standard wall plug-in (2-prong) that tucks neatly away (tucks better than the Nikon D7000 OEM). They can be used with normal outlets or with a car charger. The car charger cord plugs into the top side of the unit and accepts 12-24 Volts from the car, with 12V being standard for most vehicles. The chargers are also designed for foreign travel since they accept 100-240 volts and 50-60 Hertz (e.g., most European electricity is at 230V and 50Hz compared to the US 115V and 60Hz). We used to live overseas while in the military, and we learned to appreciate appliances and electronics that would take either electrical standard so we didn't have to sell everything when moving back and forth. Anyway, we took both sets of chargers (OEM and STK), since we like to have back-ups when possible. Good purchase for us, and we are comfortable using the STK brand at home. They also come with a one-year warranty, a nice touch. I would recommend this for an OEM replacement if that one fails, and certainly if you are doing any traveling. Lastly, make sure you test it before going on a big trip -- we don't want any surprises for such a critical camera component.

Works like a charm

I got my Nikon camera right after Christmas. We had packaging and boxes that needed to be thrown away. Unfortunately, I never took the original charger for my camera out of the box, and my husband disposed of it thinking it was empty! After such a pricey purchase, and seeing the cost of an original charger replacement, I started looking for alternatives. I was very happy to find this charger that works as both a wall and a car charger.Not only do I love it, but my husband, who has a similar model camera that takes the same battery, will use this one over the original one that came with his camera. It's super convenient to have and I keep it in my camera bag when we go out shooting so I can always charge in the car if I need to. Very convenient, I would highly recommend it.

So far, this recharger works perfectly with my Canon battery. There was a little "wiggle room" when I put the battery into it, but nothing that needed extra support. It charged quickly, and I'm very pleased with this product. Great value for the money.

I purchased this charger reluctantly....not because of price or reviews, but because I had JUST purchased a dual Nikon EN-EL14 charger but 2 of my aftermarket batteries kept popping out of the charger and therefore wouldn't charge. So I wanted a cheaper secondary charger (I somehow lost my original Nikon charger) to use for the 2 batteries that weren't working with the dual polaroid charger I had purchased a few weeks ago.Ironically I already have this charger (same design, might be a different manufacturer) and could've just purchased the removable plate (if they are available) but I digress.The charger is, well....a charger. Works fine. Nice construction. Not too much else to say about it. If you're looking for an extra or replacement charger for your Nikon EN-EL14, look no further than here. I've seen other "usb" style chargers for cheaper, however they simply just don't charge as fast as chargers that plug in to the wall.

Updated: 6/25/2013: Just got back from a road trip and the pigtail for car charger was shaky. Had to be in exact position to charge battery. I made it through fine but it was too much of a pain to be wondering if it would charge or not. At times I would have to push the pigtail into the charger and hold it for a few minutes the gently lay it on the car seat. Continue driving while trying to make sure it was charging etc. Too much stress to be wondering if you are going to be able to charge or not. Works great inside the house so not a total loss but will be looking for something more reliable for the road.Have yet to try the car charger part of it out but so far it works just as well as the original Nikon. The charger is made of high quality materials and come with a warranty. No regrets and you can't beat the price. Will update should the car charger fail to work as advertised.

I have to say I am quite happy. I lost my original charge in the park during a shoot and just ordered this as a replacement. I use a Nikon D3400 and almost didn't get it due to a 1 star review saying it wouldn't work,but I wasn't willing to pay for the Nikon brand. That review was definitely wrong and I would love to know why they said it doesn't work. It takes a little force to snap the battery in but it work fine and the car charger is an added bonus. Great product and I'll probably buy another as a back up 👍
