I got this to cover the vinyl sleep mat at preschool. No strange smell noted upon receipt. I love the extra padding to absorb my child's drool and provide extra cushioning. I've washed it about 3 times and no torn seams, fabric pilling or shrinkage noted. The surface of the mattress pad is soft so I have no qualms with my toddler sleeping directly on it.So far, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I was expecting a cheaper product due to the price and have to admit that it stacks up to my more expensive quilted organic cotton American Baby mattress protectors. Do note that I have not tested it's ability to contain potty training accidents.

I have a slightly bulky crib mattress (Colgate EcoSpring Ultra II, 6-inch thickness). I thought this mattress protector was great the first and second times I used it. It feels nice. It looks nice. It has all the right materials I was looking for and cost me less the other brand that I own. I knew it might shrink in the washer or dryer, so I was extra careful to wash with cold water and dry on low heat the first two times, and I didn't have a problem using it after either time. However, the third time through the washer and dryer I admit I was less careful about the heat during drying, so it may have been on medium heat. When I tried to put it on the mattress, the mattress protector had definitely shrunk, and while I was tugging it into place, I saw that it had also ripped at the seam between the top and side, probably as a result of the tugging. I took it back off of the mattress and have sewn the seam the best I could, but only time will tell if it will continue to tear where I mended it or in new areas. I also stretched out the top surface the best I could before attempting to put it back on the mattress. After the mending and the stretching, it went back on the mattress without further ripping (yet) and covered the mattress top reasonably well, though not completely. Since many others looking to purchase this item might be similarly strapped for time, like myself, and not eager to take on surprise sewing projects just when you need an item most, I would suggest going with the slightly more expensive but more reliable Dry Defender brand Organic Cotton Waterproof Fitted Crib Pad, which I also bought on Amazon. It hasn't given me any trouble at all, and I use it far more often than this one.

Does what it's supposed to buy batting balls up after wash. It comes these small lumps in various spots. Not that my child will be like princess and the pea, but still...you don't want anything lumpy on the surface a baby sleeps on...

This mattress pad was exactly what I was looking for: somewhat plush and organic. I originally ordered a different, highly rated organic bamboo mattress pad, and it was as thin as a sheet! Unfortunately I cannot speak to whether this is actually waterproof. Baby isn’t even here yet!

This is a white Pee protector a mattress. This is for a toddler bed. It is white, soft, and seems to be very durable. My son has not peed the bed in it so I don't know how well that works. But I am excited for it to be on there just in case so I mattress doesn't get ruined. It fits on the bed very well. It could also fit on a crib size mattress I do believe. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a protector on their mattress.

This mattress protector fit my mattress perfectly. It's super snug, which keeps baby safe from suffocation. There wasn't any weird plastic-y smell, which I found on my OTHER mattress protector. The material is comfortable, even though I put a baby sheet over it anyway. I like this product and I would definitely recommend it!

We have had it for a couple of months and washed it several times and all is well. I should let you all know after a year of use if the elastic is still going strong. So far a good buy. It could have been a little larger though.

he mattress protector works great! The material is soft and the mattress cover is waterproof so when my baby wet the bed it didn't soak through to the mattress. This is a great product, the fit is also perfect! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a mattress protector for their baby's crib!
