The magnets are just as strong and tough as advertised, but don't let them fool you when you get them out of the box. Neodymium magnets are notorious for their incredibly powerful, but surprisingly dense magnetic fields, and these puppies are far from an exception to that rule. They need to be about 3 inches apart to really attract one another so they have the densest magnetic field of a magnet I've ever owned, but for my purposes they work fantastic. In fact, I'm using them to secure my artwork to my art desk, and they work so well I'm going to have to buy some more to make my pieces stick even better.It's important to note that because of the density of the magnetic field, these magnets have their incredible strength when they're interacting with another magnetic field. Some steel alloys won't attract as strongly even from a quarter-inch away through glass(which is what I'm using them for.), so be prepared to buy a couple of slightly less powerful magnets to put on the other side of what you're trying to hold. Believe me, I'm using magnets with a 6lb pull on the other side of my glass art table and these attach like Remoras when I get them attracting one another. And do try to avoid pinching your fingers, they hurt quite a bit when they do that.

These are very strong magnets, indeed. Nicely packaged, too. It is not easy to separate them (fortunately, the provided spacer helps) but once apart, I see two neodymium magnets in perfect condition... they are beautiful! Anyway, I am not sure if I am going to put them to use or just add them to my neo magnet collection. Either way, I am glad I purchased them.

Very strong! I had been using round magnets to make magnetic catches for wall mounted bottle openers and tried these on a whim. I think I'll only use the bar magnets in the future for the pull force over a larger area.

Just received these today. Their great, I used them on my table saw as a feather board, I used them to hold a board so I could the router.I going to get another set, maybe more.

Extremely Strong, just be careful not to let them slam together, they will easily break.

This set of 2 magnets is very very strong. The magnets were able to attach to my refrigerator through the boxed delivery package. They came packaged in a sealed bubblewrap envelope sealed inside a cardboard box. The magnets came packaged together seperated by 2 plastic spacers. They are very hard to pry apart and highly magnetic. It took me several tries, one of the spacers fell out and I replaced it with a plastic credit card type card. That seemed to work slightly and then I placed a second plastic credit card type card between the 2 magnets and then I was able to slide them apart very careful as to not reconnect. I wrapped them individually in bubble wrap in order to keep them from reconnecting. If they reconnect, it is almost impossible to get them apart. If you need heavy duty magnets these will definitely get the job done. They are a little too strong for what I had in mind (to hold up kitchen utensils), but i'm sure I will find another use for them.

Overall a very powerful magnet and easy to handle, but very fragile. I held the two apart and let them come together on thier own. They ended up breaking.
