Len exceeded my expectations
Disclaimer: Amateur photographer (less than 1 year of experience)Honestly, I was not expecting much from this len from a build quality perspective. However, I was pleasantly surprised with it's metal build. This is my first manual focus Len, and it is definitely a change from the auto-focus kit Len. I will say there's a slight learning curve but nothing crazy. It's not as versitale as the kit Len, so I would not expect it to be used for every situation. I've only had a chance to really test out the lens once. However, I am excited to try it out on future adventures. Regardless, I'm happy with my purchase and look forward to using this len more as my photography skills improve.

When in focus the pictures are fine, but the focus assist does not work with ...
This is my second and revised review. Thanks to a gentleman named Mike at JARAY I received clearer instructions on getting the manual focus to work properly ( the little manual provided with the camera was too poorly written to be clear to me) . So I've changed my rating from 1 star to 4 considering the low cost. Took a lot of pictures, out of doors, with generally very good results. Its a keeper.
