Great humidor/wineador
I'm extremely happy with this Needone Humidor. I opened the shipping box, nothing was damaged and the humidor was nicely packaged. There was no plastic smell. And upon opening the glass door, I was met with a fragrant blast of cedar! I didn't read much of the instructions, as I was planning on seasoning this with two Boveda 320 gram 72% humidity control packages, and I'll leave them in, changing when needed. I set the temperature to 69 degrees, it took less than an hour to get there, and we're in Florida. I've been seasoning for a week and oddly enough the analog humidity gauge/hydrometer is nearly accurate. I've been sitting at about 71 percent humidity for a few days on the digital hydrometer, and the analog reads 70% as I'm looking through the reflective glass with the lights on (haven't opened it since seasoning started).I have not, and will not use the water tray. Before setup, I did run some box and stick placement tests, playing around with storage space when I first received it. Everything fit well inside. It held my 100-130 loose sticks easily plus two small boxes and an average sized box from my other humidors with plenty of extra room. I may be able to push 350-400 sticks into humidor!Overall, I'm very satisfied. One negative, the outer dimensions are nice, but the chassis is big and thick, so the internal dimensions suffer from the shell of the unit. Other than it's a little big on the outside dimensions and the chassis, with the inside dimensions slightly suffering from the outer shell. While it isn't a deal breaker, the boxes for longer cigars with big ring gauges may have to slide in sideways. Another positive is the temperature control. It's easy and simple. The unit is not loud. And a little over a week in, it's holding humidity nearly perfect while seasoning with the Boveda pouches. I feel there will be a long standing love relationship with this humidor!I'd recommend it, and any negatives strongly outweigh the positives. The Needone 300 count humidor is easy and virtually plug and play. Going the Boveda route, I have zero worries about putting my collection into this thing. It'll hold the humidity and get better over time. And while I don't trust the analog hydrometer, my digital gauge will be in there for the long haul even though the analog is only off one percent. Again, I'm satisfied and very happy with the purchase. (Side note: the unit is very reflective and pics don't do it justice!)

Holding temp and humidity perfectly
This little unit is quiet and holds the temp at 68°F and the humidity at 70%. I live in Florida where the humidity is 75%+ every day. To cool, the unit also removes some of the water in the air, so it just happens to hold the humidity at 70%, which is perfect. The unit does not have any humidity controls, it just happens to work out nicely. I had a desktop humidor but it couldn't get the humidity below 80%; not with glycol liquids or Boveda packs, nothing. The unit so far has been very quiet and vibration free. It has a very slight but very quiet hum, but I have the unit nowhere anyone can hear that hum, so I am happy. The light works well, the unit is roomy and it holds a lot of sticks, and it is an attractive humidor. So far, well worth the money and it solved the humidity problem of too much humidity.

Accurate, good looking and functional!
This thing is very nice! It's been extremely accurate in keeping the 70 degrees I programmed it for. I have a small 8oz bottle of beads and a Boveda pack and it's staying at 70%.I do have two minor complaints.1. there's only 2 shelves and tons of room for a 3rd shelf. the top tray has no sides. So you can't put that many cigars on the tray. So I have added my own additional stacking trays. I just wish there was a provision to slide a 3rd tray in there for organizing.2. This one is hard to explain but the width of the humidor tapers in! I added a cedar tray that fits perfect on top of the lower tray width wise but when I try and slide it to the back of the humidor so I can add another tray, it gets stuck! I just need to find a tray with a smaller width.

Needone 48L Cooling Only Humidor
If you are serious about cigar storage you 'needone' of these! If you have done your homework you know they come in 3 sizes and the larger sizes are available as coolers or with both heating and cooling. I definitely recommend the 48L size. I thought I would have tons of extra room but I've had no problem filling it up and it is definitely the best value for the money. I concluded based on reviews and people I spoke with that the heating functions are not necessary except in the coldest of climates or if the unit is being located in a cold basement or unheated garage. In hindsight I'm not sure I agree. Even though mine is located inside at about 70°F I, I kind of regret not spending the extra $50 for the heating/cooling model reasons for which are discussed below. The cabinet is well built and very well packed for shipping and the door seal is 'refrigerator grade'. It is extremely quiet. Some reviewers had mentioned an odor from the plastic inside but mine had no smells other than the spanish cedar. It appears to be thoughtfully designed and well made. The advertised cooling range is 54°F to 74°F but I'm finding it hard to regulate and achieve the desired temperature. Here's what's happenning: The ambient room temperature is 72° and let's say I want the temperature inside the humidor to be 70°F. I should be able to simply set the digital thermostat to 70°, walk away and forget it, right? No, not quite. If I set it to 70° it cools down to 68° and stays there. When I set it to 68° or lower it has no problem quickly cooling to wherever I set it. I have three other thermometers inside the unit that agree within +/-1° with the various readings so I can confirm that the readout on the door is accurately measuring the inside temperature. The problem comes in when I set the thermostat to anything above 68°. When I set it at 74°, the top end of the advertised range, it still cools to 68°, in fact when set anywhere between 69° & 74° it cools to 68°, it won't get any warmer. I tried unplugging it and opening the door until it warmed up to room temperature then plugged it back in and reset the setpoint to the top of the range (74°). If accurately calibrated at that setpoint it should not be cooling at all unless the temperature gets above 74° but instead it goes right back to 68°. I haven't been able to get it any warmer than 68° without unplugging and opening the door.We are well within the specified ranges in both functional and ambient temperatures so I'm not sure whether it would have been any better had I purchased the more expensive unit with the heating function. Being a thermoelectric cooler we may not be able to expect the performance and accuracy of a compressor unit and I can live with 68° just fine but for it to be out of calibration by 6° at the top end of the advertised range is a huge margin of error in my opinion and then to be almost completely accurate at 68° and below is completely baffling to me and for that reason I'm dinging it 1 star from what would otherwise be a perfect score. There is no built-in humidification, nor would I expect to find that in units at these price points. It would be nice to have that offered as an option or add-on so I wouldn't have to eat up precious cubic inches with humidification. It comes with a small container for distilled water or you could supply your own gel beads or Boveda packs. I use an electronic humidification device to provide more precise control and to avoid going broke on overpriced packets of water. The cabinet was not hard to season. Initially it took about 3 days for my electronic humidifier to achieve 69%. I did help it along by placing a container of distilled water inside removing it once the desired humidity was reached. I allowed it to stabilize for another 3 days before adding cigars which I did gradually over another several days allowing the temperature and humidity to stabilize each day as I went along. Of course when you open the door the temperature changes and humidity drops but I'm finding the cabinet recovers very quickly and holds the temperature and humidity very well over time. Overall I am very well pleased with the Needone 48L Cooling Humidor and would recommend it.
