Anatomy of the Classic Mini: The definitive guide to original components and parts interchangeability

Pretty disappointed, this is not definitive at all. If you are interested in trim, electrical or pretty much any interior parts then you can forget it, they're not even mentioned. The author is clearly more interested in the mechanical side of things. I have no doubt that this would be invaluable to those who simply want to keep their car running, but I would not recommend it to anyone wishing to restore to original factory condition. Descriptions lack detail, with lots of part numbers missing and often no mention of revised mouldings and obvious cosmetic changes that were made over the years.Presentation is pretty bad too. This comes across as more of a catalogue of ebay listings than something for anyone serious about classic car restoration. The text is often not on the same page as the image, making it difficult to refer to, and when you do manage to locate something of interest, the picture is too small to be useful. Some things are pretty laughable too, like captions stating that parts shown are incorrect, or not showing multiple angles of things to highlight differences. All very amateur!I'm also confused how you are expected to know which parts are interchangeable, as suggested in the book's description, since this is mostly just a collection of photos with captions - no comments are given on compatibility or fitment.Whilst I do not mean to be overly harsh and I am sure a lot of effort must have gone into this, this is an expensive book that falsely claims to be definitive. It is pretty pointless if it cannot be used for a full restoration.

Bought this for my husband at his request, for birthday present. He has a 1959 mini so this book is invaluable.

I bought this for my husbands birthday as he’s a Mini Cooper fan, he’s renovating his second one so thought he may like this book.It was quite expensive but he loved it.

Only had a quick flick through it so far, but loads of pics to show the differences between the many mini p[arts produced over the years

Very detailed pictures if you are intending originality when restoring a classic mini
