I have experimented with dozens of phone holders to use in my car. My main interest is having something useful while using Waze and Google Maps. I put this in both of my cars. The first I put on a flat surface in front of my radio. The base and holder swivel so you can adjust for best viewing. This has a metal disc that affixes to your phone and then the holder’s magnet holds the phone in place.. My phone has a pebble rubber surface and the glue didn,t fix well so I added rubber cement and it adhered fine.. Accessible and visible, great! Yet I still have to slightly turn my head to see it and take eyes off traffic. Hmmm.The second one I placed in front of the steering wheel on the dashboard. In spite of pebbled dashboard surface it adhered to the surface fine. I can use the phone horizontally or vertically and I still have traffic right in front of me while driving by just switching my eyes’ focus. Ah, this is perfect. I can answer calls while using speaker phone and continue driving with both hands.I plan on moving the placement of the holder in the first car to the dashboard like in my second car.Avoid buying and experimenting with many other options. Just buy this to save your money and time.

This is the first dash mount I have tried. No need to look further. Works well. Magnetic holds my Galaxy 8 securely and is easy to remove. It was difficult finding a flat surface to attach the device on my dash, but adhesive is tight now. Not the fault of the product, just the design of car dash. Love this device since I use my cell as GPS and need it at easy view level, plus I can read incoming contacts quickly to decide if I need to pull over to answer. A lot less expensive than built in GPS, and more transportable. Would like to have more adhesive for probable failure in summer heat.

Update 08/31/18:I was offered a replacement by the Seller - Nextstores after posting my initial review. They are very customer service oriented and wanted to replace the defective one with a good one. They told me that from time-to time they did come across a defective one and want their customers to be completely satisfied with their purchase. I am happy with the replacement as it seems solid and of good quality. I will update my review again in the future as I put the new car phone holder through it's paces and check it’s durability.I tried getting the magnets back in and of course they react with eachother. Right now I am staring at the sticker and all the magnets stuck together on my coffee table. I can't use the mount in my car without these magnets and I can't get them back in. Also worried about taking the mount off the panel I have it stuck to in the car and getting a new mount, that does not have this flaw, in my new vehicle. I purchased on April 17, 2018, specifically for my new vehicle and am disappointed that Amazon is not giving me the option of returning it. I guess I will have to call Amazon and complain to see what they will do about it.

LOVE this. I was skeptical of this - but it works great. I was worried that it wouldn't stick to the textured surface of my dash (grand cherokee) - at first, it didn't seem like it was sticking well, but the hold is strong and sturdy! I never feel like it's loose or going to fall off. The ball joint is a little tough to move around, so it doesn't "slip" while my phone is on it. I stuck the metal disk to the outside of my case, and I keep my phone in my back pocket. The disc is so thin that it has never caught on anything and is still stuck on really well - I don't even know it's there. Just bought another one for my husband!

The adhesive sticks good.I like this kind better than the ones that you put the phone between 2 bars to hold up the phone.UPDATE AS OF OCT 20, 2019 with a 3 starI have been using this cell phone holder in my car since July 2019. Last week my phone was attached to the holder like I always do. While I was driving the phone with the ball attached fell off and landed at my feet. Later I tried to screw it back to the part that was still mounted on my car (adhesive works great), but it would not stay on. I finally had to take a sharp object (butter knife) to get the base off my car. Of course, it left scratches, but that was my fault. I wanted to see if I could return it and maybe get another brand, but I see my return time has passed. Well, be careful with this holder because you do not want it to fall and get between your feet and your pedals.

Do you instructions for installation inside the package we’re not very helpful, however, the seller emailed me instructions that were excellent an allowed me to install the product perfectly. I love the fact that my phone is always in front of me and I can see without taking my eyes off the road.Follow the installation directions accurately, and I believe you’ll be very pleased! I installed magnet to my phone on the outside of the case. I recommend doing it on the outside rather than inside to ensure a firmer grip.

I really wanted this thing to work and was hopeful it would. I have a 2001 Audi TT and space for a traditional phone mount is challenging to find. I love the size of this and felt durable, but that also meant there is some weight to it. For whatever reason, I could not get this thing to stick no matter what I tried. I made sure there were no dash cleaning/shine products, I used alcohol to clean first, tried using different sticky mounts, etc. Nothing worked. No matter what, even if I was able to get it temporarily working, it would eventually fall while I was driving. Maybe it is just too heavy, maybe my dash is impossible to stick to, I don't know. I do know that I messed with this thing way longer than I should have just trying to make it work. I wish I could say I love it.
