Nice but.....
First off the knife is extremely well made and the leather sheath is as well. Honestly I would expect just the sheath to cost as much as the whole thing, so it's a great value at about $30 (time of writing). There's really nothing to complain about as far as craftsmanship goes. Everything is fitted perfectly and tight, no gaps or overhangs. The knife is beefy and may be too thick for certain things. It's like they tried to blend a skinner and a camp knife. I mean the spine is about an 1/8th of an inch thick, if not more. So it's not a delicate knife by any means. There's nothing wrong with having a beefy knife but with the size it's going to get uncomfortable pretty fast if doing anything other than skinning.I like the knife and love the looks but I'm not a fan of the ergonomics. I wish the handle had been just a little longer or the choil was bigger. Either of those would make it a lot more comfortable to use. All of that is personal preference of course and is also going to depend on one's hand size.Overall it's a nice knife but it's probably going to end up as a collection piece and not a tool for me.

Great homemade skinning knife with beautiful case.
Being that this is homemade, it's going to be different than what you might be used to. This is an authentic skinning knife made of very good quality metal and craftsmanship. These types of knives with this quality normally go for 10x more than what this one is going for. The knife was in a sealed bag that was very oily! Guess what, this is normal and often what is done to keep knives from rusting. Mainstream knife makers do not do this anymore because people don't like the oil that has to be wiped off. The knife itself is solidly built and aesthetically beautiful. You would see this type of knife every where in Alaska and any hunting camp! I love the real leather case that this knife sits in. The case is genuine leather, thick, stitched, and tanned. The blade came very sharp, and the classic design with the hole is perfect for skinning game. The handle has a burnt orange fire pattern to it, which has been done really nicely and looks tough. Is this knife perfect? No, it's handmade and it has character. On the side of my knife around the handle there are a few blemishes. This to me just adds to the fact that a craftsman actually made this. I love that it is unique and no other knife will be exactly like my knife. The way this knife is made and built, it will last a lifetime. I truly can recommend this knife to anyone who loves knives or collects knives.

Gorgeous knife all around
This knife not only looks fantastic but it also performs very well. I like the finger hole in the blade as it helps control the knife when skinning your game. The gut hook is a bit too narrow for my taste. The handle feels great and the full tang is mechanically attached. Comes with a well fitting leather sheath with belt attachment. My only complaint is a small one and that is that it came just lathered in oil top to bottom but that is only there to keep it in good shape until it reaches its final destination and is no reason to knock off any stars. This knife is both beautiful and functional. A win win in my book. Highly recommended
