Couldn't put it down.
As with the whole "Kirov" series, a fantastic, riveting read. Schettler has created one heck of a legend with this series of naval adventures aboard the warship Kirov. All the characters created by Schettler play their part to perfection in the mysterious happenings aboard this time travelling ship.

poor
not a patch on the previous books, packing it out with far too much detail, quite boring in places, I won't be reading any more of the kirov saga.

great series
I have enjoyed the other books in the series and the author continues to develop the books and characters. I await the next book with interest and will probably buy it and read it in one day.

Gripping series
This is one of the most gripping series I have read. Very well written and makes you feel you are there with the key characters.

Series of great books
I was curious when i first started reading this series of books, but am so happy that I did, this next book in this series is a great read, taking off where the last one left off, great characters, and a very possible new reality, love this book

The Beginning Of The Final War
The final war begins as the crew of Kirov set sail. Meanwhile, the search for Orlov in the past is launched. Along the way discoveries will be made that will change everything. This book has multiple plot lines and POVs. I liked that as it showed how the war developed across the world. Some of the POV characters will become important in later books. Your mileage may vary. It was fast paced and showed a understanding of weapons and tactics.

MORE ENGAGING THAN PAINT DRYING!
Books about time travel are probably the hardest kind of sci-fi to write. It requires an author who is capable of 'covering all the bases' and answering all the questions that time travel inevitably raises. Sadly, this is not such an author. We have all heard of the 'purple three eyed monster gun' right? No? Well it is when an author writes his characters into a corner where they are about to be destroyed by a 'purple three eyed monster' and there is no way out. Suddenly someone finds a 'purple three eyed monster gun' and our heroes emerge triumphant. So it is with this book. Unable to engineer ( write) a way to send Kirov back in time, the author assigns the duty to the explosion of a volcano! And it is down hill from there. Characterizations are fair. Descriptions of weapons systems are endless. And the plot has more holes in it than last year's T shirt. Read at your own risk.

Just when you thought a great series couldn't get better
I love anything about time travel, military history and military fiction. This series has them all. I thought it would be over with book 4, but the continuation of the series is off to a great start. The details of the battles are great and very accurate (I use Wikipedia a lot on my Kindle to look up details). The historical references like Mr Kirov are fantastic. After reading this last book, I looked into the author's previous works and to my surprise he wrote a very hardcore time travel series called the Meridian series. I just finished the first book. I now see where his expertise in covering time travel comes from and his attention to little details in history that can change the future.
