So happy to discover this product. I have been a green tea drinker for years but have only started drinking matcha in the last year. I often feel I need a pick-me-up at about 3:00 p.m. and used to drink a cup of coffee to get me through the day, which of course interfered with my sleep. But now I've switched to a mid-afternoon cup of matcha for an energy boast and it does the trick! I tried lower quality matchas but didn't like the bitter taste. This high-grade matcha is much smoother. I've also enjoyed reading Marie's blog and playing around with different recipes and preparing it in different ways. I came up with a matcha latte recipe that is delicious!

First of all, I highly recommend Mari Matcha for drinking in tea ceremonies to baking Matcha cookies.I grew up taking tea ceremony lessons in Japan and know when I drink good matcha. I always chose matcha from reputable Japanese matcha powder suppliers since they grind tencha (specially processed tea leaves for matcha) to make their products, while some use/mix tea leaves made for regular green tea which has no depth in flavor and gives overwhelming bitterness.I first encountered Mari Matcha at my tea ceremony lesson and was pleasantly surprised that this tea, which came out of a can that doesn’t have Japanese character written all over, was very tasty. While I was whisking the tea, soothing aroma filled the tea room. It has the deep, smooth and sweet flavor that I look for in good tea. Mari Matcha provides high quality tea without the brand name price. Since Mari Matcha is so reasonably priced, I can use it for cooking as well as for tea ceremony. Now all my Matcha sweets are tastier with higher quality Matcha powder in them.Side note for people who are not familiar with drinking Matcha, make sure you ask someone familiar with tea ceremony how to make good bowl of Matcha. If you don’t follow proper procedures, you will not get the most out of the Matcha powder and end up not liking it.

I'm not usually a tea drinker. If I do have tea it is typically something commercially made and sweetened. I usually gravitate towards coffee in the morning and water in the afternoon. That being said, this matcha green tea is the best tea I've ever had and I didn't have to add anything to it!MariMatcha is a new company but this product is awesome. I did just as the label on the can said- 1 cup of water with 2 teaspoons matcha, blended and poured over ice. The flavor is rich, smooth, and refreshing. I've replaced my morning coffee with this matcha and I've felt great.I would, and will, definitely buy this product again.
