First time to purchase this particular brand, but is a great product
Verbatim use to be the very best when using either the - or + format, or, Verbatim +RW and dual layer discs. But in very recent production Verbatim moved their Taiwan quality product to now India and Singapore, China and for the first time they undermined their quality controls for reliability over producing a less reliable, cheaper product. Therefore, I know that Sony also has good over all quality products and to a point, want quality control. The rich AZO dyes are important when recording on DVD recorders which perform better at lower speeds (X2 X4 X 8 ) for the stand alone DVD recorders. The worst thing folks can do is buy store bought 16X discs for stand alone DVD recorders. Now Im sure that computers with DVD recording can keep up with the faster speed discs, but only computers. Stand alone DVD recorders fair far better the lower the number of spins when trying to capture live TV shows and events. Sony packaging for these discs are vague on country of origin. But once tested, they did perform well and do have the same rich AZO dyes needed for archiving and recording . These are given a thumbs up, and the price is right.

good quality
These DVD discs' are a very good quality product. When using as a "CD", note they will not play in all players, When used as they are made to, they perform very well. Some older players, such as mine, will not interchange the disc usage.

For owners of Magnavox DVD recorder look no further, this is the one to buy.
Great service, great price. I collect movies by the thousands and through a very expensive process of trial and error I have learned that Sony +RW is the only brand to consider for my Magnavox ZV42MG9 DVD recorder. I have tried Memorex, Phillips, Verbatim, and Maxell with frustrating, disappointing results. When I insert those discs I get a message "Will not record on this disc." and in a stack of 25 discs as few as 5 of them will actually allow me to format them for recording. My only concern is that I have read a rumor that Sony is getting out of the disc making business which means I'll buy up all available inventory as quickly as possible before the scavengers swoop in. My Magnavox recently died and I bought a Samsung DVD recorder for only $130 and while they look alike on the face my precious +RW discs wouldn't work. I studied the Samsung's manual and it was revealed on page 27 that only -RW discs will work! I immediately bought the only remaining Magnavox ZV42MG9 in existence, or so I was lead to believe. It hasn't arrived yet, it is "refurbished" and I am skeptical. Good Luck!

They'll do
These are a good product and work well with my unit. I have had problems with other RW discs before, so it was a joy to finally get some discs that worked with my stuff. TonyB

Good and Durable RW+DVD Discs
Very nicely packaged spindle of RW+DVD media. I have used one of the optical discs to record my old Commodore Amiga 2000's playing of my program "StochasticMusic" from May 15, 1988 in real-time. I connected the composite output from the Amiga into an old Magnavox VHS-DVD recorder/dubber's composite in and recorded on a Sony RW+DVD disc. I used an old Apple Cinema display as a monitor by connecting it to the Magnavox recorder via its HDMI output through a BlueRigger HDMI cable and HDMI to DVI adapter. On the same disc I recorded me playing my Roland ready Fender Mexican Stratocaster through a Roland GR-20 guitar synthesizer into the Magnavox RCA stereo input (I recorded audio only). Both recordings sound good and the first recording looks good even though it is monochrome.

They worked
I am not a techy person....But I will try to give you my best rating I have. I bought these to back up my computer only. Nothing fancy and I could care less and the rams and gigs and all of those numbers. I wish I understood them, but I can only tell you my experience. They worked and they backed up my computer. These were recommended to me, so that is why I bought them. And that's all I can tell you.

The quality you need/the quality you expect...
These DVD's are just what the doctor ordered for recording the shows you want from TV or video. Like other DVD's, they reliably support playback in 2x play but in faster modes, you are risking a loss of data. That's a common problem to all DVD's... For those that use DVD-R or DVD+R, the DVD+RW is much closer to the old VCR tape in usefulness and transportability. With the 'R' DVD's, if you switch a partially recorded disk to another player/recorder, you have the risk(certainty) of a partial or total loss of data. With RW's, you can remove the disk, re-insert it into the recorder days, even months later, and resume recording and playing. Sony made their name with quality and these disks don't disappoint...

Sony used to make great DVD-RWs but now you can't get them anymore
When I first got these Sony DVD+rw more than a decade ago, The Dvds were great but now it's hard to find these rewritable discs from Sony or anybody else without spend more than double or triple its price, its a shame that no body makes dvd recorders and disc anymore. in other places in the world they are now getting Blu-ray writable discs and recording machines but not us.
