Comfortable, strong, inexpensive - a little heavy, no geared retraction
I have two other umbrellas like this and what makes this one stand out is the handle and ribbing. My biggest gripe with these kind of umbrellas is that they have tiny and uncomfortable handles and I just end up holding the extension arm instead. That's just not the case on this one and its shape is not only ergonomic, but it's also long and wide enough to hold comfortably. The diameter of this umbrella when it's extended also seems to be pretty large for what the retracted size is and I'm really happy about that. Most of the time these small retractable umbrellas are only large enough for one person, but I could see this being just large enough for two people. Because of those things, I think I'll be using this one a lot more than my other two.Something I did notice about this umbrella though is that it's pretty heavy for its size. I'm usually never using an umbrella for more than five minutes so I doubt it'll end up being much of an issue, but the weight is definitely noticeable and for that I'm deducting a star. Some of that extra weight is probably coming from the handle, but the center of weight seems to be right below the strap when buckled which leads me to believe that the ribs have a good amount of weight to them as well and should be quite durable in the wind. I'm also not a huge fan of the way this umbrella retracts back into the handle. You need to push it in from fully extended to fully retracted or else it'll retract back out if you only push it down partially. One of my portable umbrellas has a gearing mechanism that will stop the umbrella from extending back out if you only push it back in partially. I suppose that's a part of why this one is cheaper than that one, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. Some extra information:The umbrella material isn't completely opaque and still does allow light, although highly diffused, to pass through. If you're buying this for shade or UV protection I'd perhaps consider something different. For what this offers I'd honestly estimate the price at around $23. If you're okay with the two negatives I mentioned then this is a great umbrella that I could recommend.

Very sturdy, well made umbrella with attractive wood accent on the handle.
This is a very well made, sturdy umbrella that responds well to the open and close button on the handle making it easy to use and close. There are more ribs in the umbrella than a standard and this really does seem like it would add significantly to it's ability to withstand strong wind gusts although I have not yet had an opportunity to test this out. The umbrella handle adds a nice touch with the wood accent, very attractive. The only reason I'm not assigning five stars to this review is that the picture made me think this was shorter than it is in actuality. The length makes it impractical to carry in a purse unless the purse is more like a large tote. I didn't catch in the question section that the umbrella is 13 inches long when closed. It actually looks smaller in the picture. Overall, though, it looks like a really solid umbrella.

Looks great but is NOT wind resistant
This umbrella looks and feels fantastic for the price. Looks a lot more expensive than it is. However, I bought it for it to be wind resistant and it inverted on the 2nd time I used it when there were moderate winds. Now it doesn't work as well as the first time I used it. I will update this review if I hear back from Amazon or the seller.

Lol The umbrella is sturdy. It should withstand high winds
It's a very powerful umbrella. Clean up 3 feet around before you press the open arrow, or someone or something will get hurt. LolThe umbrella is sturdy. It should withstand high winds.

My husband bought one for himself and I really liked it so I had him order another one for me. I really liked it at first but then after a few uses, during a particularly rainy and windy Seattle afternoon, the umbrella flipped and one of the tiny metal pieces broke. The umbrella can still open and close but that metal piece will catch my hair and get stuck. I've asked my husband if he's had any issues with his, but his is working fine and he still loves it. Not sure if I would reorder though considering the fact that it didn't seem to hold up in the wind.

Not always automatic
It worked great the first couple of times, then wouldn’t automatically close. Was able to get it back to closing position by shoving but am concerned I might experience the same issue another time.

Good umbrella
It lived up to my expectations. No strong wind so far to test its resistance, though.
