I use these every day
How to express my delight with these Stone Wave cookers? What a great advance on microwave cooking equipment!!! I don't use mine for eggs. My old-fashioned methods are still the best for that. But they're a perfect size for a generous single serving of frozen vegetables and for warming up a single serving of whatever, for baked apples, indeed, so many things. They are not completely smooth inside (this glaze is very hard to control, but its purity makes it ideal for food dishes and that makes up for the occasional bump) but the dishes are still easy to clean. Don't use a metal scratcher though. If something sticks, let the dish soak for a while and it will come clean easily. I very much like the vent in the lid because it can be thoroughly cleaned , unlike vents in plastic lids that are impossible to sanitize thoroughly. Also, the stoneware is thick and sturdy and holds the heat for a while after cooking. Since I do complete meals in the microwave, cooking meat, potato, and vegetable each separately, keeping already cooked items hot is a handy plus. When removing a Stone Wave from the microwave, it's wise to use a pot holder even though the handle is often not as hot as the rest of the pot. The size of the handle assures a good grip and I like the way it feels in the hand. The wooden spoon in this set? Not quite sure what it was intended for. It's really too big to be useful in these handy little vessels, but it's a bonus for serving other items, so I'm glad to have it. Such a nicely made, sturdy wooden spoon deserves to be just wood though, not spoiled by varnishing. I spent hours sanding this very nice large-capacity spoon to get the finish down to bare wood, round the blocky edges and then saturating it with oil as one should any wooden cooking implement. Now it's a useful tool since it's the largest wooden spoon in my collection, handy for many things around the kitchen. I was not much interested in the recipes in the booklet as I prefer cooking with few or no extra ingredients. For more ambitious cooks, though, I would think the little recipe book would be a welcome accompaniment to these very handy little casseroles. Perhaps I should mention that I minored in ceramics at the university, so have a special appreciation for good utilitarian ceramic ware. Stone Wave is a perfect example of an excellent design and use of ceramic materials to create a useful and practical product. Whoever designed it did a brilliant job. The design was original, a bit out of the box, actually cutting edge for microwave cookware, and entirely appropriate to the glaze and body chosen. Great product! And a very welcome alternative to questionable plastics.

Tough to Rate... Good and Bad
Well... Of course... Nothing like the TV infomercial that makes these seem like the second-coming of egg cookers.Great for cooking eggs each morning and after each workout: two whipped eggs in one pot and microwave on high for 1 min 20 seconds... Perfect fluffy eggs. However, figuring out the exact size of egg that won't overflow and the exact amount of time that will yield fully cooked and not over-cooked (leathery) eggs was a major trial and error process... Basically, you need medium sized eggs and exactly 1 min 20 seconds... 1 min 30 seconds will result in parts of the edges being over-cooked and hard as wood or leather... 1 min 10 seconds will leave runny patches in a couple of "cavities" in the blob of egg... and over-sized eggs will overflow the pot and/or burst the lid off reducing the "steaming" effects.Hard to clean because things like eggs stick in tons of small flakes so you have to specifically scrub them out BEFORE you put them in the dishwasher or else they just won't get clean and you'll pull them out of the dishwasher with lots of tiny food residue. The time savings is huge for me (eggs in 80 seconds), so I use them frequently, but the design has a couple of major problems and I'm definitely looking for a competitor who figures it out.

The Stone Wave cookers are wonderful for cooking eggs for an egg sandwich in the morning, a quick, healthy breakfast. We have added shredded cheese, bacon, onions and various other veggies which adds to the cooking time, but the kids can quickly make their own.

Really didn't meet expectations
My first effort with the unit was poached eggs. It failed miserably. I used itt as per instructions. The eggs didn't cook in the middle. I added more time. Still not cooked. Added still more time. By the time the middle was cooked, the yokes were hard. I also should have taken note that these are made in China. I am not sure I trust the lead content and other toxin which have been found in Chinese stoneware over the years.

FAST FUN COOKING FOR SMALLER PORTIONS
I saw this on TV and bought it as a gift and then bought a few for myself. Easy to use and easy to follow instructions. Fast cooking without cooking oils. Easy to season meals for desired taste and easy cleanup. They are fun to use with children and family members. Great for fast smaller portions.

I use these often
Mostly for breakfast on the weekends the lids REALY do make a difference in re-directing 95% of the steam back down to the surface, make for a more even cooking result, keeps away the soggy middle. I have be moving away from cooking in any type of plastic and these fit the requirement nicely. 2 of these will fit SNUGLY of a MICRO-GO-ROUND (purchase on amazon of course) in the event your microwave does not have a turn table.Happy with these as a new item in my kitchen
