Koren Talmud Bavli, Volume 12: Ta'anit - Megilla (English and Hebrew Edition)

The Koren Talmud series are a good alternative to the Artscroll talmud (which I owned prior to its destruction from the Sandy hurricane and massive flood). I am enjoying each volume as I acquire it, and volume 12 maintains the high standard of the previous volumes. The real test will be Yevamot and Chullin (Artscroll was particularly good on the former). Perhaps more information (but not as much as provided by Artscroll) would be helpful, but the explanations in the Koren edition certainly get the first-timers on the Daf Yomi in on the ground floor. I recommend the Koren Talmud to anyone looking to start learning in gemara.

Great layout and print. Just wish typesetting was of a bit more generous size in parts, particularly the Hebrew only section at front.

This volume, like all the others, is delightful to own and work with. The graphics are terrific and the book has a wonderful sense of quality. I am buying each volume as it becomes available.

This is another very worthwhile effort from one of our great contemporary thinkers and sages.An excellent translation of text, source material and some of his own insights.Very with owning!

Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz introduces linguistics, botany and history to the study of the Talmud. All these tools make the studying of these texts a whole new experience.
