What I liked: Good performance, decent build quality, very good overall value What I disliked: Custom GPU driver (due to desktop GPU fitted), sub-par screen, average speaker volume This AMD machine works better when the RAM is upgraded (dual channel operation). Components are good and plenty for the price (budget SSD + HDD, adequate memory, 802.11ac, etc.). Everything looks solid enough, and it's possible to use this machine for work and entry level gaming. I hate the fact that ASUS has not updated the GPU driver since last year (standard AMD drivers won't work since switchable graphics is not a standard feature of the RX 460 desktop GPU). Battery life and screen quality are so so, and the speakers don't play much louder than smaller notebooks. I didn't regret the purchase, but it could've been better. May 2018 Review Update: I am changing the review to a single star. ASUS has not updated the drivers since launch date. The graphics driver is very very stale. It is two full editions behind and lacks the features that the GPU would support if the software was up to date. The out of date drivers also cause small anomalies with current Windows releases. Furthermore, a risk mitigation BIOS patch is yet to be made for this model. June 2018 Review Update: Asus just released a BIOS update (version 307) which fixes most of the issues with windows and current applications. It also now supports the generic AMD drivers, which is a huge plus. Do note that Freesync on this machine will not work with AMD's generic drivers, but that is a bitter pill that I'm willing to take (versus using Asus' vintage drivers that has been causing issues).

Was good. Did work with much effort. I am joyed.

I love this laptop to pieces. It does everything I need it to, and it is very responsive.

AMD update ruined it and no optical drive (even though there's one displayed in one of the pictures. False advertisement.) Saved up my money for a month and I what I though was a deal was actually gold colored trash. Would not recommend to anyone.

Good device but have a porblem software with AMD updates, Until now I can't solved it. I update AMD radeon to last version ,now when I run radeon Show me this message : "no amd graphics driver is installed or the amd driver is not functioning properly" If this problem solved ,Worthy 4 or 5 starts.

I have a similar laptop to this one and the RX 460 is a good graphics card

The dedicated graphics card would never come online. ASUS looked over it and said there was no problem, yet, CS:GO played at 20 FPS on min settings. Also, the pictures show an optical drive, but there is none on this laptop.

couldn.t get it to work start up problem kept getting codes sent to asus for repair in grapevine tx and it came back worse would not start up at all

It is able to handle the games I play which aren't heavy games (Modded Minecraft, AAA games solo mode low resolution) Graphic are good for streaming and such stuff. 6 months after purchase I got the BSoD and had to send the laptop back to Asus for repair, reliability on my end is relatively low.

La laptop pose muy buenas características con un precio atractivo, pero me veo en la penosa necesidad de puntuar esta compra con tres estrella esto debido a los problemas que presentan los drivers de la gpu los cuales no han sido actualizados desde la versión 16.6. Anterior mente puntué la compra con una estrella calificación que tras probarla considero un tanto excesiva, pese a que no han solucionado el problema de los drivers(situación que se me resulta un poco decepcionante) recomiendo su compra solo si pose el precio adecuado.

Esta super , rápida y todo muy bien solo que la batería le dura muy poco menos de 2 HRS ya está casi muerta :(

Muy buen producto, corre bastantes juegos a un exclente precio. Supera por mucho a muchas portatiles con intel de precios superiores.
