I bought this book because I had a lot of precious fabric that I hadn't found a good enough reason to cut into yet and this seemed like the perfect project to use it in! I participated in the fun Quilt-A-Long Nichole and Elisabeth hosted shortly after the book release and I recently finished my last block and am in the process of assembling it now. I loved this book, learned lots of great tips, and am so glad that I cut into some of my favorite fabric to make it! This quilt is really something special and I loved the new techniques that I learned. The book is grouped into chapters by theme, with 4 blocks in each chapter. I especially liked that within the chapter there were more complex and more simple blocks, which both balanced it out and allowed for a variety of different-sized fabric cuts so you could use fabric with a small motif in some blocks or a large motif in others. Also, in general the blocks become more challenging as the book progresses, so it gives you a chance to build your skills if you're newer to quilting - though for me the part I spent the most time on was selecting which fabric to use in what blocks. There are a few corrections so make sure to check out the "Errata" on the Lucky Spool site and have that on hand before you start cutting. I highly recommend this book!

Improved both my sewing and fussy cutting skills
I own a lot of quilting and sewing books, and this one is by far my favorite! A seasoned sewist/quilter, I was amazed at how much I learned while working my way through the book. The book is well written, with directions that clearly walk you through creating each block. As an added bonus, both authors present their version of each block, which gives you different ways of looking at and interpreting each block layout. There are a total of 48 unique blocks in this book, and each focuses on a specific skill or lesson related to fussy cutting. I liked that these techniques were presented this way, it helped me build my skill set and become more confident in my fussy cutting and sewing. Things like directionality in half-square triangles (don't you love it when your fabrics all go the same direction?) and isolating a motif (totally cool techniques to create focus on a specific design) are now second nature to me after having completed all 48 blocks. This book was also a great way for me to finally use those much loved fabrics that I had been holding onto. I'm thrilled that I get to enjoy them every day in this beautiful quilt! I will definitely be returning to this book again and again for ideas, instruction, and inspiration!

Makes a beautiful quilt!
I love the detailed instructions, and colorful illustrations and photos in this book. It is easy to follow, and whether you choose to make the full quilt, with all 48 blocks, or just a few of them to create a smaller project, I think you will be pleased with the results. As soon as I finished my first quilt top, I wanted to start a second one! There are a couple of errata available on the designersβ websites so be sure to get those.

One of my favorite books, seriously!
I purchased this book to quilt along with one of the authors on Instagram and it was the best experience! The instructions are clear, the photos are colorful and inspirational, and the chapters are well thought through. Materials-wise, this is not a break the bank project and I really appreciated that! I don't have a large stash, but was able to easily use a few old favorites that I'd hung onto over the years and supplemented some fun new favorite and blender fabrics (mostly in 1/8 or 1/6 yard increments) from my local quilting store. I learned a lot and love my quilt! I also want to say that this is not a make it once and "been there, done that" book. The possibilities are endless and even though I just finished my quilt top, I'm pulling fabrics to create a Christmas/Holiday themed version. This is also a perfect gift book, it's fun and a visual stunner! If you're still mulling it over, buy the book! You'll be happy you did!

My favorite quilting book!
This book was the perfect skill and confidence builder for me. I learned so many techniques! I also got to play with and use my favorite scraps saved from past projects. I enjoyed looking at my fabrics in new ways. This was an excellent project and now I want to make it again using holidays prints!

Great book for new and old quilters alike - what a blast!
I bought this book a few months ago and recently completed the final block - what a blast! The book is written clearly and concisely with lots of ideas and tools and tricks. I am a seasoned quilter but hadn't approached a project in this way and loved following along and learning new skills. Each block is shown in two colorways and there are plenty more ideas to be found online - so interesting to see how diverse the same pattern can look. Each block also teaches a skill or focuses on a specific type of fabric which makes it fun to pull from your stash and dream up new combinations. I found that in most cases the fabric selection took longer than the block construction. Whether you are a new quilter looking to learn skills or a seasoned quilter this would be a very fun addition to your library!

There's more to fussy cutting than I thought!
I thought I was an experienced fussy-cutter and doubted that I would learn much from the book. I bought it because I liked the blocks I saw other people making and wanted the patterns. I learned quite a lot, however. Most of the blocks have a challenge to go with them, and working through the book trying the challenges helped the learning experience. Learned a few tricks, lots more things to consider about different types of prints, and to really listen to my feelings about a block (isn't it maybe a little too busy? don't you want to try another combination because you don't really love this). Ended up with a quilt top that feels incredibly special and personalized. And I know it will change how I do other quilts in the future.

Fantastic book for all levels
This book. Wow. I've done a few little quilting projects but never fussy cutting. This book starts easy and get harder with each block. Every block or chapter has a theme so I really learned to look at my fabrics and choose what would work from geometrics to prints in different triangles and layouts. The way the book is written made it easy for me as a beginner and would still be great for experienced quilters. I learned so much, I highly recommend this book to anyone, my skills have improved remarkably and can not wait to start again. It's allowed me to make an heirloom quality quilt top which is the most beautiful thing I've ever made. It's well written with explanations of every step so was easy to follow, great photos with the different authors showing their takes on the blocks, I loved this about it as it helped me visualize what I wanted and how to choose fabrics. The themes are great for learning how to use the fabrics. Will buy again for friends who sew or want to learn as their skills will undoubtedly improve by following along. Great book!
