Simple, Awesome, and Quick Egg Maker
The media could not be loaded. I really like this steamed egg maker, and its ease of use. The steaming capacity and egg quality are better than any other comparable product I’ve used. It’s small in size, but it is a solid, and sturdy design. Your eggs will come out perfectly cooked every time, and peeling is super duper easy. I use mine at least 3 times a week, and it has yet to let me down. Highly recommended.

Compact & Convenient
Love this little item 👍 takes up less room - easy to use / easy to clean. Boil time quick! Eggs came out great. May take more than one try to get your eggs to perfection.

I L-O-V-E it!
What' not to like? it works just as advertised. It makes life so much simpler for one who constantly obsessed over getting the perfectly cooked boiled egg. And was it going to be easy to peel if I needed them to look good?

Works, but meh... updated to mmmm.
Updated 4-star review...Seeing my original 3-star review the company support staff contacted me and offered a new "improved" water measuring cup and asked for an update on this review after using. Done. Here it goes...I have now cooked 3-dozen eggs (2 to 6 at a time) to test the new measuring cup. The results were much better now, especially since I improved my technique. The new measuring cup has a highly readable black and more simplified scale graticules (compared with the nearly invisible graticules on orig cup). I think the repeatability of results was poor because I couldn't read the marks well with the orig cup.And I do like the shell piercing point on the cup... I have no idea what good it does, but it does seam like a good idea. This egg cooker cycle depends entirely on the timed evaporation or water... a well proven design technique. The more water you use the longer the eggs cook.1) The chosen amount of water is poured onto the boiler (hot plate) at the bottom of the unit. The cycle starts when you push the start button.2) Boiling water turns to steam at a nearly constant 212º F/100ºC, which cooks the eggs nicely and gently.3) When all the water boils out, the temp of the heating plate climbs above a 100º+C set point and the bi-metalic power switch snaps and turns the heater off.I would now recommend the cooker if you follow one simple step...• As soon as the egg timer clicks, move the eggs into a pan of cold water to stop internal cooking quickly. If you don't cool the eggs down promptly, the hot eggs' own internal temp will further cook the eggs. This is true no matter how you cook the eggs. The extra heat will cause the outside of the yolk to turn green, the yolk will dry out and the eggs can get rubbery.Remember, the hot plate is still hot after the switch snaps off and it, too, will further cook the eggs as the plate cools down over time.I think this is the reason why some of my eggs over-cooked until rubbery. It didn't matter how much water I poured in if I left the eggs in the cooker for them to overcook.Note to Maxi-Matic manufacturer: the subtle clicking volume when the switch clicks off is too low to be heard unless you are near it when it finishes cooking. It would be an excellent improvement to have the cooker sound out a 'beeeep' when done so it can be heard around the kitchen easily and the cook can get the eggs into some cool water promptly....Original 3-star review...My thoughts were that this cute cooker would save me time and mess when I cook up my fave hard boiled eggs. It does and it doesn't. I've tested for different results by varying the amount of water used in the cooking and the number of eggs cooked at one time. The fiddly bits of making hard boiled (HB) eggs are easier and simpler but the results are a bit denser and tougher (over cooked), some yolks have a greenish patina and sometimes whites are more yellowish (from the heat) than doing it my proven way... **Haven't tested the scrambled eggs or omelet functions because I don't eat them, but it might be nice to cook those egg dishes without oil or butter.I prefer the results that experience has honed and have gone back to that method...** Sometimes I cook up to a dozen eggs at a time so I have two ready for me on egg mornings... and an HB egg or two readily available for salads, etc. Now I have a new appliance to donate to the thrift store.[**Bring eggs to boil from cold water (5-min, remove from heat immediately and let stand for 15 min, pour out the hot water and replace with cold water (5 to 10-min) to stop the cooking... this method has always produced delicately cooked HB eggs with no gray-green around the yolk, ever, and no yellow in the whites. ]

Great little egg cooker! UPDATE 10/8/20
UPDATE: 8 months later and still loving this egg cooker! Perfect HB eggs, easy to clean and store. As mentioned in my previous review, this SS model was not supposed to have the buzzer, but it does and I'm glad. I get distracted and completely forget about the eggs...haha. My method is still to put them in a bowl without water when they're done for 45 minutes or so. I found that after the 45 minutes if I then rinse in cold water enough to handle them, they peel SUPER easy. I only do this if I'm using them all within a day or so. They still peel easy even if refrigerated in the shell.----------------------------------------I chose this egg cooker because of the stainless steel lid - I prefer that over plastic. It was smaller than I expected, but that makes it very cute! I also wanted one that didn't have the annoying sound when the eggs are done, which this one isn't supposed to have. But it does! It isn't as loud as the example in the video someone posted, so no heart attacks over here.It holds 7 eggs. I used extra large eggs in my first round, which didn't work great because they were too big and prevented the lid from seating correctly. They came out a bit underdone for hard cooked since steam was escaping from the bottom of the lid. Instead of rinsing them in cold water to stop them from cooking, I let them sit in a bowl for about 30 minutes to continue cooking. This made them perfect. My second and third round I used large eggs and they fit correctly. I still let them sit in a bowl for a bit without a cold water rinse and then put them in the fridge. They generally peel nicely, and for the ones that are a bit more difficult I peel while running under water and that helps a lot. You're supposed to poke a hole in the fat end of the egg before cooking. The pin that is attached to the little water measuring cup works fine, however some eggs have thicker shells so for those I use medium pressure while twisting the pin back and forth to make the hole.I love this little cooker so far! I like hard boiled eggs and egg salad, but cooking eggs the traditional way with a pot of water is kind of a pain. This little thing makes it very easy, and again, it's damned cute!

Best Way to make Hard Boiled Eggs
I would buy this just to be able to peel the eggs and have the shells just SLIDE off the eggs. The eggs turn out exactly like the way they are supposed to. Hard Boiled is Hard Boiled. It works exactly as described. I bought the won that comes with the alarm when they are done and it did not make a terrible noise as some people said. It did come already turned on as a few people said....maybe that is caused by it being tested at the factory or something. However, the instructions say if it comes that way to turn it off before starting again. It also came with the two extra trays and I only paid a couple of dollars more and I have them available if I want to make different types of eggs. I think this item is well worth the money.
