Q: What's the flex like on this board?

Like a spring board. I can almost make the middle of the board touch the ground when jumping on it, if that puts it into perspective.

Q: Should i buy this or the retrospec zed bamboo complete cruiser? i'm new to longboarding but i pick up stuff fast.

The drop through will be easier to push since it is lower to the ground and has better wheel clearance. For these reasons I would recommend it. The other board does have a kick tail though so if doing Ollie's are important to you then go with that one. Although being 44in this will difficult, but easier than with the drop though. I hope this helps.

I haven't tried wheels on skate boards, but I have changed wheels on roller skates. I have outdoor wheels and indoor wheels. I would interview skate park participants about their own experiences and what wheels work better for rough terrain etc., prior to purchasing better wheels. The best to your hunt for a better ride.
