Excellent. Very dependable and really last in outdoor environments, even very harsh ones.

This is very helpful in keeping things labeled/ ink is sharp, does not rub off, rainproof and lasts long time.

Well, it's a garden marker and a very good one. It's the only brand I use anymore in my nursery because it doesn't fade and doesn't wash off. Alcohol based ink and is easily cleaned with. . . a little alcohol.

These are nice markers. I have not tested them outside in the garden yet since the seedlings are still in the greenhouse.One thing I noticed was I had to keep turning the marker to get a position where it would mark normally when it was new. Now, it's been in the greenhouse and has been used alot it is marking normally. That's the only negative thing I experienced

Last year I used these pens and another brand. Both supposed to be “waterproof”. I had very important seedlings carefully marked. I only had one of these pens. And many of the other. Within a few weeks the other one was completely gone. Unreadable. Gone! A horrible disaster! But the tags I had used this pen on have lasted over a year outside. They start out with a nice tip for finer writing but then kind of gets larger and not as nice a tip for fine writing. But maybe I bare down hard when writing and wear the tip out faster.But definitely long lasting in the outside elements and one pen writes for quite a long time.Highly recommend. (Even my Sharpies faded last year). This one did not fade!

Like most growers, I have experimented A LOT and this is the only garden marker pen that I have been able to depend on reliably. I use it primarily on plastic tags that are wedged inside clear, UV-resistant, orchid pots that stand under 6500K Daylight fluorescent light fixtures. The labels have lasted 5+ years without fading, at the time of this review. I have also used this to write directly on plastic pots that have gone outside on an unprotected west facing balcony, and it has not faded at all over the course of several summers.I am sure there are conditions you could expose this ink to where it would fail, because, let's face it, getting labels to last is a trickier business than it seems. But this product works very well in my applications, and I have read other reviewers say they even exposed it to winter conditions with success, too (something about snowmobiling signs…?)All other pens I have used, even those marketed as garden marker pens, have faded or worn out during this period.Idk if the manufacturer is Artline or DP Industries, but the pen always has the Garden Marker logo with the little sun and picket fence. It is a heavy duty pen with a metal casing, just like paint pens, but it applies like a regular felt tip Sharpie. The ink has a UV filter, which is why it lasts so long, imo.I once experienced problems on Amazon receiving this item, and I think it's because the written description and name can be pretty general on some listings. My order was reimbursed, it wasn't a big deal, and I've ordered this pen from other Amazon vendors with no issue. But, you might want to double check with the vendor that they will be sending the exact item pictured. I did not experience any problems when ordering from THIS exact listing, which clarifies that it's a DP Industries pen, and gives more specifics in the description.

Great little marking pen. Only time will tell how durable the resulting writing is. I'm using to mark on white plant tags, but it's been less than a month so far. I'll try to update as time passes, but so far I am very happy with this pen.Update: The tags that I marked on over a year ago are still easily readable!! Just as a test I did some with Sharpies at the same time. In my unofficial test, this marker has far out-performed the Sharpie. My tags have been outdoors for over a year in unprotected areas. We get hot sun often over 100 degrees in summer and freezing weather in winter... pretty hard conditions for a marking pen to stand up to. At the rate they are going, I expect to still be able to read my tags from last year still next year! So far the pen I bought last year is still going strong, but I just ordered another one because I use this pen for SO many things, that I don't want to be without one when my original pen finally dies.

I am using this in the garden on tags - a must have ! I have bought my third set recently - always have them on hand. Comes in handy for other projects too!
