The Complete Private Pilot (The Complete Pilot Series)

This book gives the reader a scenic tour through the VFR pilot training process, and the author shares many clever tips that I haven’t seen in similar books. He’s obviously a very experienced pilot and CFI. I didn’t come across any typos or weird formatting; this is a well-edited book. At times the author is also quite funny, which makes for a more enjoyable read. I’ve also read his book on phraseology, “Say Again,” which I recommend. I recently bought another of his books, called “The Advanced Pilot,” which I look forward to reading. The reason I gave just 3 marks is because the charts were all the way in the back, thus inconvenient to access when you’re taking a chapter quiz.

Wanted it for a review of flying since I've been out of the loop for a bit - it will be helpful but is probably still a bit geared to information which is more helpful for exams than for everyday flying. I assume the everyday stuff is in there but this is almost overly comprehensive for what I needed so may be too much info to "wade thru" for my use. Will probably use it more to look up something than to read cover to cover. On a positive note - my copy was brand new and still in the plastic shrink wrap.

I didn't like this book. Too many of the pics are in b/w and they really do need to be in colour. The book feels rather poor quality and while the writing may be fine, it's not a book I can recommend for pilots, or those trying to become pilots.I returned it and instead went back to the Jeppesen Private Pilot Manual (Guided Flight Discovery). Full colour, everything you need is in there, and it's a well-structured book.

Sehr gutes Buch mit vielen Abbildungen. Guter Einstieg in die Materie, besser als andere deutschsprachige Bücher. 5 Sterne!
