A Comfortable Bra...Can It Be??
Let's face it, girls - tatas on the larger side are just not comfortable. Period. And the bras available don't help. Now, I haven't tried every single bra - and frankly, I'm kind of cheap. I won't spend $80 on a chest basket. It just won't happen. It's a struggle because I also cannot stand the fake silk stuff - ya know, the fabric that just balls up, attracts lint, and scratches after one wash. Ick! What's a woman to do with "da girls" if she wants decent quality - and comfort - on the cheap?Enter the Playtex Women's Cross Your Heart Lightly Lined Seamless Soft Cup Bra....aka, the bra you're looking at now. For a very reasonable price, this bra screams comfort. (Better the bra screaming comfort than your shoulders screaming from pain because the straps are digging in!) The band of this stop'emfloppin' contraption sits comfortably around your body - no itchy elastic and no pinching. The cups are soft and have just a hint of lining - not enough to build any depth, but plenty to assure you won't experience any embarrassing "headlight" moments, either. The cups are seamless with equals comfort and no scratchiness. There isn't anything special about the straps - they are normal boulder holder straps - but for some reason, they don't dig. I think it's probably due to the way the band lies so well against the skin.I hate wearing bras. Hate it! I will wear a heavy sweatshirt in the winter if it means I can get away without wearing one. (While on a quick trip to the store - not all day!) The shifting, tugging, riding up, tightness...and let's not discuss the back fat issue many boobie bags cause. No thank you! I have enough issues with my body to deal with without having "help" from some uncomfortable wirey thing!I'm happy to report this bra causes none of those issues - it really is comfortable. I don't mind putting it on. I'm not sure if the fit is just really accurate, the bra is well designed, or the materials are better than average...but this is my new bra. I won't purchase any other brand or style. Why? When you find a good house in your price range, you buy it. It's that simple.

nice basic modest bra
This playtex cross your heart bra is attractive and offers good support. It wears well and is a good value. The fit of the bra is better for women who are full at the front. If most of the fullness in your breasts is on the sides you may have some puckering in the nipple area of this bra. This bra does not have additional "padding" like so many of todays bras. It is lightly lined so you do feel like you have more support and coverage than with a thin nylon bra. It also sits high enough on the chest that you don't see the outline of your bra through knit shirts. So many of todays bras are low cut and so enhancing that you can't achieve a smooth natural look when you are wearing a knit shirt.

Pointy, good fit, not scratchy, so nice not to have padding or seams across the cups.
The bra does make you look pointy, but it is not bad unless the material you're wearing is too clingy. Nice support, & nice wide band in the back. Good to have support with no padding. I have never understood why bra makers put padding in big breasted peoples bras!! We don't need that!!!! Those of us in the size 40"s club need to minimize not maximize that area. The band is a bit tighter than other bras of the exact same size, so buy up just a little in the band inches..Its great not to have seams across the cups. The cup size is good and fits well. It is not scratchy like other people are saying. or them, it may be a mild contact allergy to the material.

Great bra with great support.
I must have ordered about 30 or 40 of these. I like the fact that it is white. It is lightly lined so it wears well under clothes. It gives you the support and lift that you need. It also keeps you from stretching even if you are a large cup size. Great buy! It is the only bra I buy.

Like Pillow Protectors for Your Chest
After thoroughly exploring the world of modern bras, I've decided to revisit some classic fits. I've been on a period drama kick lately and all the pointy cups under form-fitting '50s sweaters have made me wonder if I too can pull off this look. The Playtex Cross Your Heart series is one I remember from being a teenager though I never tried it. It has an element of nostalgia to it, and I snagged one off Amazon to try at an extremely cheap price.I knew this would be an inexpensive soft bra made of poly/nylon that fits differently from wired modern bras, but what I didn't expect was to get this hideous thing that feels like wearing pillow protectors over your chest pillows. Seriously, it's difficult to imagine what a padded polyester bra with fiberfill cups would feel like until you have put one on your body. Even though it's winter, this didn't feel right on me, and I couldn't imagine wearing this during normal ambient temperatures.I am normally 28E/30DD, 26.8" underbust, 33.5" bust.Measurements of this bra in 32C:Band: 25.2" unstretchedCup width: 5.1"Cup depth: 7.1"Cup height: 7.1"As far as fit goes, I was debating between ordering 32B and 32C, but couldn't find much info on sizing. I went with a hunch that vintage fits run large in the cup, and sure enough they did, but having determined through thorough testing that I can in no way, shape, or form ever wear a 32B, I went with the 32C which is at least closer to a sister size. By modern standards, this cup is pretty big, but I found that the cup width, depth, and height worked on my larger side. The problem was the shape, as I don't have the kind of conical tissue this bra requires to fill out the very pointy, very full center of the cup. It more or less gave the appearance of the orange-in-a-glass effect. I think this bra is designed for women with either a conical shape or soft tissue that can be molded into the cup shape. Firmer and shallower breasts are not going to be able to fill the center of the cup, leaving a sad, deflated center instead of pointy mounds. This bra is not going to help me achieve the '50s sweater fantasy.Band size seems to run pretty true to a 32, and thankfully the elastic of both the bands and straps is wide and powerful. There's a heavy-duty 3 hook fastener at the back, and the band was decently supportive despite being two size too big for me. I appreciate the fully adjustable straps though personally detest sliders on the front.I actually like the vintage cross-front construction and lace trimmed cups, however the polyester cups and plain exposed elastic makes the bra look incredibly cheap. It looks like a bad prototype made from available materials, not like an actual consumer product. The photos made this bra look plain, but in person it just dumbfounds me. Perhaps the vintage Cross Your Heart bras are worth a try, and I'm not totally giving up, but this is my first and last bra-in-a-box.
