Big, sturdy and look great
Bought 3 of the large size and couldn't be happier. Easy to assemble. Not too heavy to move, but heavy enough to stay put once in place. The included shelf is nice so you don't have to use as much mulch and topsoil for planting. Followed instructions found on the Veradek website to make a spray concoction to help rust them out, as they arrive in a grey steel. Worked perfectly. They look like works of art once rusted! Very pleased with these and would happily buy more in the future if needed.

A classy garden addition
These steel planters are fabulous. Large, heavy, rustic! It only took one application of the water/ hydrogen peroxide mixture to turn them into a perfectly rusted finish. They have shelves, so you don’t need to fill the entire pot with dirt which is really great as well. I used them to camouflage an ugly wall outside a bedroom window in our AZ home. Received tons of compliments. Love 🌵👏

Solidly made and good-looking
Couldn't be happier with my Veradek span corten planter! The steel it's made with is thick and solid, and the corten planter looks, feels, and functions like a high-end piece. At 40 pounds, the (medium) planter has a satisfying weight to it.I had to contact Veradek through Amazon (due to a shipping issue, not a product issue), and was impressed with Veradek's customer service. They really took care of me. Fastest resolution ever (2 days, despite it being a holiday weekend)!Smart design - it has an inner shelf, so I can either fill from the bottom or partway. Love the clearance between the ground and the bottom edge of the planter - I don't have to worry about any visible thrashing along the bottom part. It has thick walls, so even though it's 10" deep, the interior depth is 7", so I will have to start out with smaller plants and wait for them to grow within the planter. If you're not a patient grower, or have an immediate need for plants with height for privacy or whatever, you'll need to buy one of their deeper span planters. In general, I tend to buy high-end, not for prestige, but because durability, practicality and craftsmanship are important to me, and I'm also rather obsessed with design, so I have an uncompromising high bar, and Veradek's steel planter hits the target.I plan on accelerating the rusting process using their suggested hydrogen peroxide/salt/vinegar solution to prevent any rust run-off/staining, but to be safe, I also ordered the drip tray.

Joints are a bit warped but it looks great
Bought two of these one had joints were a bit warped and didn’t fit super snug with other pieces. Still looked great and I ended up buying more.

So Disappointing
As a designer, I specify Veradek planters a LOT for my clients. Or used to. I bought this one on Amazon because it was cheaper than buying with my Trade “Discount” from the vendor (another disappointment, but I digress). I have two other Span planters that I bought in 2019 and I loved; wanted a third to go with it. The photos were a bit deceiving, and because the names and measurements were the exact same as the original I did not notice the huge difference in this planter. My original CorTen Span planters were one solid welded piece. Yes they arrived unrusted as any CorTen product would. This was not a surprise. They rusted up quickly and are gorgeous. THIS planter came flat packed and with the wrong instructions, which took more than a week and two calls to the vendor to figure out. I won’t bore you with the details, but apparently there was ANOTHER model manufactured under the same name between my original beauties in 2019 and these ones. I got the instructions for those and nothing matched. First person I spoke with didn’t figure that out, just sent hardware which also didn’t work.In my second call, I was told in order to screw on the bottom of this planter I had to reach through and place washers and nuts onto the bolts sticking up through the planter. What? The planter is 38” deep. I do not know anyone whose arms are that long. They then told me to lay it on its side and crawl part way in in order to reach the bottom. Mind you this is a TEN inch wide planter on the outside each edge is more than an inch, so generously, that gives 8" to wiggle into. I also do not count Flat Stanley among my friends. Because I am stubborn, I tried anyway. I managed to get two nuts/washers on (the ones in the middle) using a super long needle nose plier. I’m sure they are not very tightly screwed on. There is literally no way to lay down and get my head inside of this planter to reach the other 6 bolts. Finally the overall look is WAY less elegant. The big visible seams on the ends is really ugly and disappointing. I will not be specifying these for clients again.

Like a Piece of Art
I sprayed three planters as directed. I treated them in the garage, and I didn't find the odor offensive. It smells like vinegar. These are photos after the first and tenth spray. Once I took them outside, they rusted even faster. The color variation is beautiful. Everyone LOVES them. They really are like pieces of art. You do have to be careful not to brush up against them with light clothes or you can get rust stains. I don't know if that will change over time. It's a bit difficult to get the drain plugs out of the medium-sized planters because you only have a 7" opening where you reach inside. I covered each drain hole inside with a piece of screen.I also ordered a drip tray from the company and wish it attached to the planter. It sits on top of it. However, the planter is heavy enough to be stable on it. I put a couple of heavy landscape bricks in the bottom to give it extra weight. I also filled the entire planter with dirt. It took 6 bags of 32 qt. potting soil to fill each.I chose horsetail reeds like another reviewer used. I'm very happy with the results.

Bon produit
La disponibilité de la sous coupe est son point faible, j’attend de pouvoir protéger mon patio avant de pouvoir planter ma boîte à fleur.
