RothcoShemagh Tactical Desert Keffiyeh Scarf
S**.
Pleasantly surprised upon arrival.
EDIT:I have used this extensively in the hot summer in my garden and on a few hikes. It is wonderful but very pink. It's been wet, dried, stressed, and holds up well though there is some minor tearing where it was really pulled hard. It makes a wonderful shawl and helps keep the mosquitoes from getting through my clothes!ORIGINAL:This has just now arrived and not been tested in the field. After reading a lot of reviews I was afraid I'd get something flimsy, dirty, or smaller than described. I was wrong. This came precisely as described. Not including the tassles, it measures 42x42 (actually a hair short of 42 on one side and a hair long on the other, less than 1/4" difference each way.)It is clean and doesn't smell, except for the dye. It reminds me of when I used to buy t-shirts with decals on them, not a strong smell. The weave is better/tighter than I expected. The holes in the weave are too small to measure - much less than 1mm each. The color (pink) is really pink.It feels strong. Pulling one edge from the other, I feel like I could rip it if I wanted to, but it would take effort. I'm sure I could hold one end down with a foot and rip the other with my hand. But for a lightweight item, it feels sturdy. I won't feel like I have to be dainty with it.I've just looked at some YouTube videos on how to tie this thing and it's long enough to do all of them, though 2" more wouldn't be bad.I'll probably buy another in another color someday. Looking forward to using this one.

Ordered more they perfect!
Those are awesome, they don’t smell bad but I wash them anyway first. It’s very nice to wear in winter or in summer to keep hair in line . Love the color variety thank you!

Good deal
These are the best cotton scarves. Light weight and I washed and dried (cold water and medium heat) and it came out softer with minimal shrinkage and the edging stayed intact. Pink, sorry guys, is nice color and moves away from the military look if you are traveling outside the US. Got mine for Nepal where they say it can be hot and dust can be thick in Kathmandu.

Great price
I know there are much more genuine shemaghs out there, but these ones are great for their price. They seem thin and somewhat flimsy, but rest assured, they are rather tough. I have one for work, I wear one when riding motocross in my back yard, and I've actually taken one out to the snow and it works great! A must-have for the survivalist, and they do look pretty sweet when worn as a mask/scarf. I've bought 4 now, 3 for me, and one for the young'un, and the quality has remained somewhat consistent, and they are very useful for a multitude of things. Remember not to wash them in a machine, and go easy on the soap. Mine have held together great after a year, being tested as limb slings/splint ties, face cloths, hot/cold wear, a quick bandage, carry bag etc. As long as Rothco doesn't skimp out on quality, you should be pretty happy with these.

very nice
I bought this for the girlfriend, who has to be careful of UV exposure on our frequent beach trips. We have shelter, but this seems to cut down on reflected sunlight. Also, she uses sunblock, so when the wind kicks up, its uncomfortable for her. The shemagh cuts down on blowing sand. If you buy the pink one, know that the pink is not quite as pink as the photos show. Its more of a dulled-down subtle pink.

I couldn't be happier
Never had one before so didn't know what to expect. People that I work with took a look and said it was some of the nicest quality they've seen. One even ordered one for himself and was very happy with his. I ordered mine for hiking and it's fist outtings was in The Smokey mountains in November. One morning was in the 20's and it kept me nice and warm and kept the wind off my face. I couldn't have been more pleased. I ended up ordering 2 more one for my wife for Christmas and one for my daughter for her birthday.

Love them. I have two of these now and bought one for my wife. Whether it is plus 20 degrees or minus 20 there are multiple effective uses and they are well worth the money as they are of good quality as well.
