Purple Bamboo Matcha Green Tea Whisk Chasen 100-Prong with Chashaku Scoop for Japanese Tea Ceremony and Everyday Use

This purple bamboo chasen and chasaku are absolutely beautiful and functional. I would just like to add that these are not the purple color you would expect, but a hue. Just like cherry wood doesn’t look exactly red like a cherry. I would also like to say that the chasaku is two toned just like the chasen. The rear side is a solid golden bamboo color, which in my opinion, accents the set perfectly. With all that being said, the chasen is “opening up” correctly and whips up an amazing matcha tea froth with little effort. When this set deteriorates I will order another one and so on and so forth.

Matcha is not meant to be downed in a smoothie, let alone in a quick gulp. It is meant to be savored; it is an experience. Part of the experience is its preparation. "Mindfulness" is a word one sees a lot lately, largely detached from its original Buddhist context.Preparation of Matcha should be slow and thoughtful. One ought to look at an absorb the utensils. Even the shape of the bamboo scoop should.be contemplated.This purple bamboo set is magnificent - It is unlike any I have seen since I first tasted Matcha in a tea ceremony 50 years ago!An aesthetic gem!

Look very pretty and refined if slightly fragile. Very happy with them so far. Not sure the chasen will last long - the curly parts uncurled after two uses even though I keep it on a stand.

I've used this several times and the tongs are still curled, unlike the other 3 I had purchased which after 1 use became flat. I LOVE this whisk and I love the ancient look it has.

I had never heard of Purple Bamboo until I stumbled upon this. Wonderfully warm wood that speaks of comfort, joy, and the highest level of craftsmanship. The Japanese are universally known for fusing nature, function, and art into items producing an enjoyable moment in the use of a practical object. There are many Matcha whisks out there, but why drive a Chevy when you can drive a Cadillac?

So unhappy and disappointed. The chasen arrived today cracked, packaging was intact. I don’t have the time to return this item, so now I’m stuck with a defective, broken product.Also, there is zero purple in this chasen. If it’s made from purple bamboo you wouldn’t know it. It’s brown.

Really like the two tone color. Bamboo whisk expands properly in hot water and functions well. Scoop is a good size and helpful for dispensing matcha powder. Purchased a separate holder to maintain whisk shape.

I'm very disappointed in the whisk. I haven't even had it a month, and it's already falling apart. I'm new to matcha making, so maybe I'm not using it correctly.
