After spotting a bargain online (thanks Amazon) a new set of suspension forks landed on my doorstep earlier in the week. After cutting them to size, the next step was to install the supplied star-fangled nut. Now I'm fairly handy with a hammer owing to an engineering apprenticeship but would that nut fit in the steerer tube correctly? After 30+ minutes of effort yesterday and no small amount of swearing, I gave up on the YouTube advice videos and spent the best part of £8 on this little wonder. It arrived today and two minutes later the star nut was happily sitting in the steerer tube doing whatever star nuts do. There was even a spare nut in the package, ready for a second attempt, should my hammer skills have not been up to the job. So, if fitting star nuts are your thing, don't mess about lashing together odd screws and 12mm sockets, just buy one of these and save yourself some time.

This tool does the job just fine, and it does it first time no worries, well worth the money so would recommend it to anyone.

Firstly, this was small. Much shorter than I expected. Also, the material much thinner than I expected too.I tried it to fit the header tube and it was extremely tight, even though I thoroughly sorted the tube, no burr or sharp bits.Used it to fit the star fangled nut and trying to remove the toolfter was a real pain.I should have paid more and got a better one. Won't buy this one again.
