I bought these for my wife to use to store work on and wanted something that was durable because she seems to keep breaking her drives. For the most part, they work great, except we noticed that they constantly disconnected from her laptop. I thought at first it was her ports or something else, but then she finally got frustrated and we bought a different brand of thumb drive for her. Then I started using these and having the same problem. What we found is that the design of these drives causes them to overheat very easily. When they overheat, then they disconnect. It makes it a complete misery to do file transfers or anything that takes longer than 1 to 2 minutes because they will overheat and disconnect. I like the idea of good durable thumb drives, but I have a feeling they need to go back to the drawing board and figure out a way to keep them from overheating.

I needed a capacious, high speed USB drive to host a couple of dozen ISO files of various Operating Systems, that I use to build or recover systems. This drive is all metal, fast, water and dust proof, and larger capacity than I really needed. But the price was spectacular. So, why not? So, now I carry all my ISOs, a bunch of extra tools, utilities, and portable programs and its still only half full. What's not to like? Very satisfied with this. Goes with me literally everywhere, and I have no fear just carrying it in the bottom of my pocket. It's 1/3 the size of my previous drive and twice the capacity.
