Q: Can you apply makeup over these?

You can do if you want to. They are thin and clear and stick completely flat to the skin so I guess you could apply makeup after if you wanted. These certainly stick firmer than any other brand I’ve tried so why not give it a go! I usually just apply mine before bed though ;)

Q: Do these work for big hormonal spots/cystic acne?

I’d say these work best on spots that have already come to a head rather than stubborn under the surface spots. Having said that, these have worked better than any other I’ve tried and do seem to get rid of some of the gunk from out of my spots. I think it’s to do with the special honeycomb structure they use. They’re also made to be extra hygienic, which is really good for your skin.

I know what you mean! I tried loads of different brands and I’m really pleased with these ones. They have a unique technology that makes them stay on for longer. From experience, they stay put for quite a while, including overnight! I highly recommend you give them a go.

Q: What exactly is hydrocolloid?

Basically it’s a type of material made from natural polymers that have healing elements that help draw out impurities from spots and reduce scarring, etc. In this case anyway! They were originally used to heal wounds I think but some smart person realised it could help acne. Pretty cool really!
