Installed on a 883 Iron. It’s very sturdy. The one thing lacking is the hardware (spin nuts). Make sure you use loctite. Otherwise a good back rest.

I bought this back rest for my 2016 XL883N so I would have a little extra support when I'm riding. I have a SADDELMAN "Touring" (if you can call it that on a sportster) on my bike and when I went to check fitment before installing the back rest, it wouldn't fit. The seat I have installed is too tall and wouldn't allow me to attach the backrest to the mounts due to its profile and height between the driver and passenger. If the backrest mounting brackets were about 3" taller it would have fit with my current seat.Conclusion- This seemed to be a well-made product. The material on the backrest itself seemed a bit cheap but you could always have it reupholstered if you wanted. The brackets seemed sturdy enough. The backrest arms that attached to the frame brackets seemed a bit suspect, but I didn't get to test that.

This has made a HUGE difference when riding. The first few rides I made before getting this my lower back was killing me after awhile. Since adding this its been much more comfortable. I'll be making sure any bike I have from now on has a back rest for the rider because of this!
