Perfect for travel. Strong and durable. Mu only negative is the seller uses evri for delivery who just dump the parcel but say they handed it to a resident. So I would not urchase again from this seller for that reason

I bought this bucket to use as a compost bin. As another reviewer wrote, the lid does not snap on but rather just sits there. I would prefer a snap-on lid, but I decided to keep this because it was a low price (under 10). I haven't had any problems with fruit flies--perhaps because the lid is snug if not secure. I've let food scraps sit in it for a few days before hauling to the compost heap. A few days ago, I put it in the dishwasher (bottom rack) to see if it would survive, and it did! That's what led me to write a review. It was still a little stained after washing in the dishwasher, but I don't really care about that. If I can sterilize it in the dishwasher every now and then, and the lid is "enough" to thwart fruit flies, I'm totally pleased with it.
