The illustrations are fantastic, but the writing is terrible. There's no plot, no suspense, no excitement, nothing interesting, humorous, or inspiring about the "memoir." Such a shame, because he's a great illustrator.

This is a rich and engaging personal journey of Igort, a comic and manga artist and storyteller completely immersed in the depths Japanese culture. If you love Japanese culture and manga, I highly recommend this beautifully illustrated graphic novel.

The narrative is smooth, as if you were listening to a very engaging storyteller, except they were also showing you their subdued ink drawings and watercolors to complement and emphasize the spaces between the words.

One of the most interesting books I’ve read for a while and the illustrations are superb. Will return to it again and again

Great artist goes to Japan, where he embraces the culture and has extraordinary experiences. Very well drawn and informative too. Am buying it for gifts to my other ex-Japan friends. Arigato!
