We were looking to replace outdated outdoor lights on our early 70's house and these light fixtures look great on our house.

They look so pretty and great source of light.

Too large for siding box. Returned item.

We got this pair of lights for front and back door of our home. Previously we did not have an outlet near the doors and wanted to add security cameras. The description does not tell you one important point: The built-in GFCI switch is wired with the light. There is only a single positive, negative and ground coming from the light. This means if you want to use it for an electronic item such as us, you have to have the light on. This makes it impossible to power the security camera without having the light on at the same time. Running the front door or back door light constantly 24/7 was not something that we wanted to do. As far as the install, it went ok but took a little time because it didn't fit seamlessly where our old lights were with the hardware. We had to use some of our old mounting hardware and some of the new mounting hardware to make it work and thereafter the light will wobble a little if it is tapped lightly with your hand--our old light was mounted rock-solid. The review asked us to rate motion detection (which we gave this a 1 star because it does not have motion detection). It also asked us to rate the brightness (on a light where the bulb was not included) and we gave this a 2 star rating because in an effort to solve the always-on problem, we ordered separately a day-night photo sensor switch. This switch works by screwing your light bulb into it, then screwing the day-night switch into your light receptacle. When the day-night switch was being used, it did not work and was always on. The photo sensor would not work through the light or glass it was made from. The metal used to make this light is pretty thin and I'd be surprised if we don't have to replace it sooner rather than later either because it stops working or because the weather deteriorates it.
