Finest Imported Sardinian Grated Bottarga

I like the quality of the product and it’s taste.

Pricey for the quantity just because it's grates. Buy a solid piece from the same company and fine grate it yourself ( microplate) more quantity and less money.

Let me qualify this by saying I am no expert on Bottarga! I had read that the grated, bottles kind was not as strong, and perhaps for our recipe, I should have gone with a whole piece and grated it myself. I just wasn’t willing to commit. Our cooking club definitely enjoyed it, and I found myself adding more and more to my cucumber and ricotta salad. I would definitely trust this company to have a good product!

Bottarga was listed in a new recipe I wanted to try. It is mixed with butter and other herbs and used as a glaze over steak and fish. It was not overpowering. It gave enough flavor to make our meal unique. I ordered more to have on hand.

Pleasantly tangy, not exactly fishy. Had read about it and wanted to try it. It was ok but nothing that I would buy again at the price.

My beloved maternal grandmother with whom I lived until she was 89, was born in 1869 under Spanish rule, in Cuba, was a true foodie who loved mullet roe in all its forms. So, I have been eating mullet roe from early childhood until today. And, not because I was an obedient grandson, but because I always loved good food and knew that good food could always be made better tasting. Today, that can be accomplished without having to search or spend too much for a food "improvement" of any kind as good as this! Try it, you will like it!

Bottarga is excellent, whether putting in on pasta or making a pate for cracker spread, this is an item to try!
