BUY IT. The only thing that really works.
I used to get canker sores all the time (genetics and stress), and this was the ONE pain relief product that helped significantly for more than just a few minutes. If you can manage to keep the area dry as the Kanka dries (e.g. by sucking air into your mouth to dry the area and holding your lip/tongue away from it if necessary), then it forms a nice protective coating. The consistency is a little goopy, but thinner than honey. Similar to maple syrup, maybe.PROS:-Eases pain SUPER well-Lasts for much longer than other products-Tastes okay (strong medicinal smell, but tastes like a cough drop)CONS:-Stings a lot! Sorry, but this seems to go with the territory. It's worth it, though-Will numb whatever it touches, so if you accidentally touch your tongue, that part of your tongue will be kind of numb for a while (but not as bad as after the dentist)-Lid can get stuck on bottle b/c the applicator is a bit messy (the product gets stuck to the skinny part of the applicator), but just store it upright and clean the neck of the bottle after using

Finally! An Effective Product!
I have a painful blister on my tongue, which I guess is an inflamed taste bud. It's the size of a pencil eraser. Just about anything I did would irritate it and make it bleed. Ugh!! It healed for a while, then became worse and nothing really worked. I used an entire bottle of mouth rinse and gargled with warm salt water several times a day. For about 3 weeks, I have not enjoyed eating or drinking because of the pain. Finally, I tried this. Now on day 3, it looks it will finally heal! The redness is gone and it's not nearly as painful and sensitive as it was. Since our saliva eventually breaks down the "barrier" it must be reapplied a few times a day. Dry off the area as much as possible first. Allow at least 30 seconds to form a "seal" after applying it. The taste is really not bad. It's very effective at relieving pain. I'm FINALLY going out to eat with a friend tomorrow. Thank you for this awesome product!! Kank-a will always be in my medicine cabinet!

Works!! relieves pain!!!
I have never had a canker sore(s) before. So I ordered this to relieve the pain. Made by Blistex I wasn’t hesitant because I’ve bought the brand of products before. This stuff works, almost too good!! Follow directions on bottle. I had two canker sores on the inside of my lip and two others on my gum line. The first time I put too much and it doesn’t take a lot of this stuff. Let it dry best I could but still got a little on my outside lip. In no time at all the area I applied it to and now the outside of my lip was numb!! Like went to the dentist and they gave you Novocaine numb!! No Pain!!! It doesn’t really taste all that bad but it will numb anything you out it on. Says to apply 3-4 times a day, I’ve been using it 1-2 times. It’s worth the money and although a small bottle it should last quite a while. Good addition to you medicine cabinet if you have an auto-immune disease.

Solid solution to canker sores, goodchoice for the price.
I get canker sores irregularly but when I do they are painful and usually last multiple days. This product numbs the lips, gums, or even tongue heavily when applied directly. After application I will generally feel it spread through my saliva, but places not directly applied to lose their numbness quickly (a positive thing). The application gives some immediate pain similar to putting alcohol on a flesh wound. The pain goes away quickly and is followed by soothing coolness and numbness of the applied wound area. The numbing lasts through eating, talking, etc. The numbness will sometimes wear off as you eat food and/or get lots of fluids through the affected area, but re-application is easy and application in general does not use much liquid. The "cover" or "sealant" that enters your wound and helps to protect and repair it is a hit-or-miss for me. Sometimes it does seal the wound and even after numbness I will feel that the canker sore is more "smooth" against my inner mouth. Other times it just doesn't seem to apply it very well. This may be because I use as little liquid as possible to cover my sores, but is still significant enough to mention since it says on the packaging that it will cover and protect the wound(s). Overall it has helped my canker sores more than it hurts, but I don't see fantastic improvement with the sore. The numbness is still an A+, but I cannot give it a 5/5 for that reason.I have seen negative reviews stating that the liquid makes your gums/lips stick together painfully, sometimes even causing damage to the canker sore. I have not had this happen, however, the liquid will generally be slightly sticky after application until it gets wet. When I apply it to my mouth, I generally hold open the lip where the canker sore is and hold it for about a minute before licking the opposite lip and making sure I can move my lips around comfortably. It has caused some stickiness but not enough to cause damage or harm me, and again, goes away immediately after the affected area gets wet.Overall a good choice for the price, especially for someone like me who does not frequently gets canker sores but is burdened by them. The bottle I am using will last a very long time.
