I LOVE this! Tastes like dates! (or toasted caramel!) No g.i issues, either! Amazing!
This is the only sweetener I found--at least, that I liked the taste of--that DIDN'T upset my stomach or g.i. tract! (Of course, I only took 2 teaspoons full in my coffee--I don't want to push my luck--but that was perfect level of sweetness for my big 16oz espresso-latte, amazingly!) I really enjoy the taste--it tastes like caramel, but slightly deeper, like roasted (or toasted) caramel. (You know how coffee tastes sweeter, the darker the beans are roasted? It's like that, but of caramel instead of coffee. Perfect!) Yet it doesn't linger as super sweet aftertaste in my mouth, the way monkfruit or honey does (I dislike honey due to that excess sweet taste lingering.) Also, as a diabetic, I was very relieved to discover that this Yacon Syrup did not affect my blood sugar level! (I could tell by the way I feel: sugar and honey make me sluggish, sleepy, fuzzy-headed. But this Yacon Syrup had NO impact-it didn't cause "brain-fog" nor sugar-spike of my blood sugar!, and my blood glucose tested out normal!!) Now, I'm not thrilled at the price, but to me, it's so worth it, because I detest all the other sweeteners I have used including Splenda, erythritol, Stevia, etc. (Plus they really tear up my gut!) I like Equal barely, but only in iced tea (and in whipped cream); it doesn't taste good in my coffee or anything else. So I don't bother with it. And it tastes great in my huge bucket of strong coffee! Bingo! NOTE: The only other 3 sweeteners that I do like the taste of are Allulose (yum!), Xylitol (good in tea! But deadly to dogs!) And Monk-fruit (Tastes fantastic!...but...) So here is my reasoning: -Allulose tastes great! And NO after-taste. No fake taste, either. But it only sweetens my latte somewhat (so I must add a bit of sugar,) since if I use a 3rd tsp of Allulose, I found I have a bit of g.i. issue (just a mild stomach ache; not bad, but usually these things get worse every day wirh use, so I won't push my luck.) I'll use Allulose occasionally, especially to take some with me (since Yacon Syrup is not easily made "portable"! It's far too sticky and messy-like honey.) -Xylitol, I've used for 10+ years, I love it in iced tea, lemonade, etc.-it's perfectly delicious! It doesn't sweeten my coffee enough though, at least, I'm not going to add more, as even 2 spoonfulls give me slight g.i. issues over time, but a bit more each day (but over time, it became a predictable way to keep "regular".😬 But not severe like Maltitol or Sorbitol. Just won't wait....) But worst of all, my dog got into it TWICE and both times almost DIED! Xylitol can kill your dog in under 30 minutes--it makes dog's blood sugar drop to deadly levels in moments! Very toxic to them! It is very costly to have the vet save them ($5,000 each time!) as dog needed hospitalization for days! They may never fully recover completely. So I can't risk that (or afford that!) ***Hint: IF your dog ever eats or licks Xylitol, immediately call Poison Control (yes, the vets say to call Poison Control, just as you would for a human! Really!!) Poison Control told me to quickly rub some corn-syrup (Karo, etc.) under their gums, around dog's teeth, to help bring dog's blood sugar back up towards normal, and take your dog to a vet, immediately as they'll need IV of sugar solutions for a day or more. --Monk-fruit is the 3rd sweetener, and I think I will like it, but it's sooo sweet, I'm still playing with the scant amount you are supposed to use. But it would likely be good in sour drinks like lemonade. Again, it's super sweet, and has a super sweet aftertaste (like honey does, but far sweeter!) It's not at all bad, but I just need to get the right dose so as not to over-sweeten the food in question. But so far, no stomach upset or g i. issues.)

Not disappointed, a quality product!
I was happy to find an all natural low glycemic sweetener, on top of which has several other health benefits such as pre-biotic fiber and antioxidants. The flavor will probably take a lil bit of getting use to for most, but once your taste buds adapt it is quite delicious! The flavor profile is unique, somewhat tastes like a light molasses, mild sweetness with a slight tang. I have not used this product as a part of a recipe, I have used it to sweeten coffee, oatmeal, yogurt, and cold cereal. You should be able to use this in most foods, however, if using for a recipe you might need to use a bit more to achieve the level of sweetness you desire. That being said, since it has a unique flavor profile, if you use it in a recipe it may give a distinctive flavor to the recipe, and not just added sweetness, which could be a bonus or a drawback depending on what your expectation is. Final thoughts: Excellent quality product, delicious once tastebuds adapt, health benefits, no fake sugar substitute flavor or absurd magnified sweetness. A bit pricey, especially if you would utilize for extensive recipes, however, if only adding to (cereals, yogurt, hot or cold drinks, as a supplement), then price is a bit easier to manage. Hope this assists your purchase, Blessings, DW

Sweet, but not as sweet as I expected
I bought this looking for an alternative to honey and other sweeteners. Like one reviewer wrote, other sweeteners like stevia, etc, has an aftertaste. I guess I was expecting this to be somewhat almost sweet like honey, but it is not very sweet in my opinion. But im trying to cut back on sugar, so even the subtle sweetness helps in my coffee a little bit. I still sometimes add monkfruit to help sweeten my coffee a little more. So the combination of yacon syrup and monjfruit adds just a little sweetness. I would say this product is better for drizzling of food like pancakes, fruit, toast, etc. but not to sweeten coffee if you like your coffee somewhat sweet like me. I would compare it maybe to date syrup because it does have slight tart taste, but not by very much. It noticeable but its not a deal breaker for me. Besides the sweetness i mainly bought it for its prebiotic properties. Also, I don't feel the sugar high like when i consume honey or agave, so I would agree that it does not affect my blood sugar very much which is a plus. I will try other brands to see which one i prefer. This product can still help you cut back on sugar because you can use half the sugar if you add this to your meal or drink.

VERY HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE TO SUGAR
So wanting to cut down on carbs and not being able to palate any other healthy alternative like Stevia or xylitol, that have an aftertaste,I came across this in searching for alternatives. Not everyone will like the taste I'm sure. It's hard to describe. A very full kind of molasses type of taste with a little nuttiness there I think. NO AFTER TASTE! 👍🏼👍🏼 It's not super sweet, But it is just sweet enough to cut the bitterness of your coffee whenever you add Heavy cream also. And that's all I need. .....to cut out the bitterness. So it's not designed to make your coffee, sweet, just palatable with a hint of sweetness. For me, I think I added at least a tablespoon 6 carbs....maybe a little. I love that it's sweetness, along with definite, very healthy benefits, like being a probiotic. We all need to have PRE -and probiotics in our system. 👍🏼 I recommend this product due to it's definite health benefits. At $16 (subscription) that's not terribly pricey. Will last me 15 days if I have coffee every day. But eating healthy does cost more than eating crappy. 🤗

Not Bad But Not Enough Flavor For Me. I Would Not Buy Again. ( Alovitox brand organic yacon syrup )
I am going back to keto after my holiday eating frenzy and wanted to try a different type of sweetener for my tea and coffee. I tried this brand ,Alovitox brand organic yacon syrup and also the Blue Lily Organics brand yacon syrup. The Alovitox brand was thinner and lighter in color and flavor. It didn't taste very sweet at all to me. Not a bad flavor, just very mild. The Blue Lily was the thicker and more flavorful of the two, it had a darker color and a more pronounced molasses type of flavor. Of the two, this is the one I plan to buy again. I have been using a teaspoon worth of the Blue Lily in a cup of coffee and that is enough , whereas the Alovitox takes two or three teaspoons to make my coffee "sweet" . As far as possible digestive issues, I haven't had any, and I suffer from IBS on the daily, one of the reasons I am going back to keto. Ultimately, I would NOT recommend this product. 3 of 5 stars

Amazing sugar alternative for my coffee and teas
I am always searching for alternative syrups and sugars in my coffee and tea beverages and putting on pancakes or toast. I have used other syrups, such as date and simple syrup, and when I came across this specific product, I knew I had to try it. When I first poured a teaspoon into my morning coffee, I instantly fell in love with the rich aroma of flavor and tasted the quality of the potato. This yacon syrup dramatically benefits your overall health without all the additives, added sugars, and “extra” ingredients that most other syrups put in. I will be purchasing more in the future when I am low on my current item. Oveall, superb natural syrup!

OMG - SO GOOD!!! FRESH! SWEET! ORGANIC!!
My syrup arrived safe and sound sealed tightly assuring its freshness. Upon opening it I dipped my finger into it to get a little taste, and it was just amazing!! I don’t understand why this syrup has been kept a secret from the world! Every grocery store should carry this! Alovitox is the smoothest, richest tasting product I have had thus far, so here is where I stop looking! When you find the best you gotta stick with it — and this is the best by far! I have read some of the other reviews of people describing how it taste, and it’s really kind of hard to explain. I think saying a mixture of honey and molasses - but not nearly as thick - with a bonus little yummy yummy at the end, is the best way for me to relay my interpretation of the taste. It is very smooth, easy to use, and mixes well!! Why not give it a try?? I’m sure glad I did!!

worth the money
I have reactive hypoglycemia and I can ALWAYS tell when something has a “sugar effect” on my body. I used this to sweeten plain yogurt (so you could really taste it if it was bad), and it worked very well. I’d say it’s not as sweet tasting as honey. Maybe used 2tsp in 6oz yogurt. But it only has 2g sugar when the equivalent for sugar, agave, or honey is 16-17g sugar. So that’s a big difference. Tastes like a cross between regular honey and manuka honey, maybe. But the caramel-ish flavor doesn’t seem to stay once mixed into other things. We mixed plain yogurt with this and lemon and it just tasted like lemon yogurt. Personally, I like the less sweet flavor but b/c it’s so low in sugar, I don’t mind adding more if needed. It’s a bit pricey for the amount you get, but IMO it’s worth it for the lower glycemic effect. I did a bit of research before choosing this particular brand. I liked that it was organic and it seemed, from reviews and brand information, to be the best choice. Sticking with it. Oh, it’s pretty sticky. Lol
