Japanese Buddhist Altar Butsudan (Big, Tessen)

I am so glad I found this. It is so nice to have an altar that you can close off after the meditation. It is beautiful from inside and elegantly simple from the outside. It was shipped quickly. I am happy with this purchase.

It is a beautiful piece and holds my statues of buddhas and bodhisattvas. It is both artistic and simple. I must point out that the doors connect to the wooden frame using pegs made of plastic. During shipping one of the pegs (which act as hinges on the doors) snapped thus making it a bit tricky to repair. I got one peg in good enough to hold the door firmly. The rest of the construction is wood that was made to fit together via slots. During shipping the wood may loosen so make sure evwrything fits up tight. All in all it is an excellent butsudan worthy of prayer and practice. Enjoy!

This item is very beautiful and the Butsudan is constructed with great skill and pride. It looks wonderful in my home.
