What’s not to like about this cartoon book featuring the king of comedy!!!?!!!!

Oh my! Just received my book in the mail a bit ago and decided to take short reading break. Ha! That didn't work! The sad part is it seems that just when I dive in, it's over already! What these two create together with Harry's beautiful illustrations and Steve's FUNNY DNA, well, it's like the funnest ride in your favorite amusement park that you never want to end, so you go back several times over. I will keep both these books - Number 1 Walking and The Wealth of Pigeons - nearby and reach for them often just for the laughter and life wisdom. My husband, Jack, and I were in the audience of all Steve's movies, so it's FUN having this behind-the-scenes peek into the world that has brought us so much joy! Harry and Steve - your collaboration brings your own kind of magic to this genre and I look forward to more! Steve - You are a DaVinci in the Art of Comedy. Thank you for all the laughter - most grateful! (love the TV series!)

Hilarious fellows.

Great easy read

This was my first graphic memoir. Harry Bliss, the illustrator, must have worked long hours on this one. I was very impressed by his artistry. I like how the book switched from comic storytelling to illustrations with captions. I'd like to believe that Steve Martin gave voice to the captions after the illustrations were done (and I may have missed it, if that was voiced somewhere in the book). It brought back lots of memories of the people he has met along the way as well as the movies he has done. They've collaborated in one other book together. So I have that and another one ready and waiting in my wish list.

I loved the first part dealing with the life of Steve Martin. What I did not know is that most of the book is just random cartoons completely off the subject.

It's like they wanted this book to look nice and thick but only had enough ideas for half of it. So half the pages are simply blank. Why would you do that? See my picture for a sample.Also, if you have certain favorite movies that you want to hear stories about then you might be disappointed. I'm a HUGE fan of the movie The Jerk and Steve included exactly ONE cartoon about that movie. Really, Steve? You could only come up with ONE story for your first movie? Come on man, you can do better than that. I feel a bit ripped off after seeing your documentary and hearing your banter about this book. Thought you'd at least have a few more cartoons about your FIRST movie.I liked the book but with so few cartoons about my favorite movies and being full of blank pages I just cannot give it anything more than 3 stars. I will say that Harry Bliss's art is good. He deserves five stars for his art but unfortunately he's been dragged down by Steve's lacking content.

Steve Martin is one of my favorite comedians and this book shows his humor and wit. The addition of the art adds to the humor!

O livro é novo, mas parece que foi empilhado sem proteção, causando uns pequenos amassados nas bordas. Mas, para mim, é irrelevante, principalmente devido ao preço e o envio rápido. E para quem gosta de Steve Martin é um grande achado.

The book is so enjoyable. It was delivered on the date it was promised by Amazon.

Saw this on the Apple TV two part special ordered it & wasn’t disappointed. Very funny.
