Works Very Well as External Power Source for Several Camera Models and to Charge NP-FZ100 Batteries
I recently purchased this kit to see how well it would work with my Sony RX10 IV camera. It did everything I expected it to, and is a solid, well-built product. It is really intended for use with the Sony Alpha a9 or a7R III camera, because the kit comes with two of the NP-FZ100 batteries used by those camera models. The RX10 IV uses the NP-FW50 battery, so I cannot use the two batteries that came with the Multi Battery Adaptor Kit in my camera. However, the kit also includes a cable that is connected to a dummy battery, and that dummy battery does fit into the RX10 IV camera (or any other model that uses the NP-FW50 battery). So, you can use the kit to charge the two NP-FZ100 batteries, and then, with those two charged batteries inserted into this device, put the dummy battery into the battery compartment of your camera and power it for a long period of time. You can also purchase two more NP-FZ100 batteries, and have a power source that includes four of those batteries, for an even longer-lasting power source. The dummy battery comes with a sleeve that adapts it for fitting into a camera that uses NP-FZ100 batteries, also. The device, of course, is somewhat heavy and cumbersome with batteries inserted into it. But it has six tripod sockets, three each on the top and bottom, that you can use to attach it to a tripod, or to a cage that you have your camera in.I can't say that I would recommend this kit unless you have a camera that uses the NP-FZ100 batteries that come with it, but I was purchasing it for use with my RX10 IV as an external power source, and it works well for that purpose.

mostly good, but a few odd things make it a little annoying
It works, so I can't say anything bad about performance. It is also very well built. You can't do better than Sony OEM equipment if you want quality for camera accessories. It has a few quirks though that people may want to know before purchasing it.You can't use it to run a camera with the batteries backing it up. You can only either pass through wall power to run the camera, or you can run off the batteries. If you power the camera with a wall outlet, and there is a power flicker the batteries will not keep it running. likewise, If you are running off the batteries, and the batteries run out of juice, it will not keep the camera running off the wall power. The camera will power off. Also, it only charges one battery at a time. If I put 4 batteries on it, it will only charge one at a time, instead of all at once. That is fine since it will charge each battery a little quicker if it isn't dividing up the charge for all 4 batteries at once, but it is something you will want to know. Also, I really dislike that the dummy battery is not detachable. If the wire breaks from too many bends I cant replace the cable. It should have been USB-C or something replaceable. You could probably get a larger battery bank with a cable to fit your camera for far less money, so I don't really know what to say for the value of the purchase. I mostly got it because I trust genuine Sony accessories over third parties.

Extremely Versatile & Great Build Quality
I really love this product- most of the relevant areas have already been covered by other reviewers but let me give you an idea for it's usage that would make the ultimate run-and-gun stabilized setup that anyone would be envious of.Check out the DJI Ronin-S coming out in Q2 of this year, 2018. This battery adapter has tripod mounts on the top and bottom. The Ronin-S, with this battery adapter mounted on the bottom, with a lightweight tripod mounted to the bottom of the battery adapter would make a stabilized run-and-gun setup that's lightweight, can film for hours and hours, and could also be sat down anywhere for tripod footage. An example of tripod feet that would make this marvelous is: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0149KBPB4/?coliid=I77G20EGHDE0I&colid=31EJZ0UFRF3SW&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_itThis battery adapter is built like a tank and holds the batteries very well. I love that you can press a single button and see the battery life of all connected batteries at once. The dummy battery is well built and the fw-50 to npfz-100 adapter clicks on very well. It's also nice to come in after a long shoot and plug one cable in to recharge all 4 batteries. Further, if you're close to a wall outlet while filming (maybe on a tripod- I do a lot of pageant filming where this is the case), you can plug the wall outlet AC adapter into this battery adapter while it's connected to the camera for unlimited camera power.Until a dummy-to-dtap battery comes out for the NPFZ-100, this is the best solution for extended battery life for any fw-50 or NPFZ-100 cameras.

Works great but a bit unwieldy
Works well with A7 IV when using the dummy battery to power the camera. As others have mentioned the setup is quite a bit cumbersome with such a large external power brick coupled with the charger itself, and the permanently attached dummy battery. It would be perfect if Sony reduced the size of the power brick and made the battery attachment removable.Unit does not charge all batteries at once but instead checks them and charges them one at a time. It charges at the same speed as the one unit charger that Sony sells. The package comes with accessories that allow the charger to be converted into a smaller two unit charger to make it more portable if needed but then you still have the dummy battery attachment and power brick to deal with so that seems kind of pointless.Overall I like this product and will keep it as I don’t have to keep track of which batteries for my A7 IV are charged and can just grab one and go.
