Captivating Series
Obsidian Review:I only recently discovered Jennifer L. Armentrout as an author, and I purchased the Lux series after I devoured the entire Covenent Series in less than a week (I seriously did nothing else all week but read, couldn't drag myself back to normality at all). While I definitely enjoyed reading Obsidian, and I'm dying to continue this series, I was a teeny bit disappointed. I didn't connect as well with the characters as I had with Alex, Seth and Aiden from the Covenent Series. However, it still contains all those amazing qualities that I have come to expect, and love, from JLA: compelling dialogue, addictive prose and swoon-worthy romance. It has all that in bucket-loads. And I'm totally down with the whole hot-alien thing.I had a few issues though. Katy starts off being described as timid, but quickly turns quite sassy without really any explanation. Daemon was totally rocking an Edward Cullen type funk, you know - nasty and mean on the surface, but secretly yearning for Katy underneath it all, and just trying to protect her. Not a big deal for me as I love Edward Cullen, it's more an observation. The biggest issue for me was that a lot of the stuff that came out of Daemon's mouth was pure Seth, so much so, that I actually kept thinking of him as Seth which was jarring at times. Also, in the Covenent series a 'demon' is spelt 'daimon' and in the Lux series the character 'Damon' is spelt 'Daemon'. For that reason, I kept reading demon in place of Damon and it bugged me. I know it's minor (and it wasn't an issue in the later books) but I wish she had just spelt it Damon.Overall, my issues were quite minor, and this is still a very good book and I would suggest it as a recommended read. 4 StarsONYX REVIEW:Another fast-paced addictive read from JLA. I hadn't totally connected with the characters in Obsidian, but got totally hooked in Onyx. Daemon is easier to like in this book, and you start to get a glimpse of his real personality. I completely distrusted Blake from the start, and was screaming at Katy to back away. I was disappointed in her, that she choose to believe him over Daemon, and though I understood her logic at the start, I felt it dragged on far too long. Katy felt the pull between them was only down to the connection, and that was reminiscent of Alex's view that her attraction to Seth was all down to the Apollyon connection. (Covenent Series)The suspense is really cranked up in Onyx, particularly in the second part of the book and I had a hard time putting it down.JLA writes romantic suspense so well, and I was literally tearing my hair out at times, but in a good way.A brilliant read, worth checking out. 5 Stars

re-reading for 100000 times..
I love this book!! Lux series are the first books that I read of jenn, I love the way that jenn wrote the story, Daemon is not the only boy in the story, Simon and Blake, they are handsome too!! And maybe with a better attitude than Daemon, and anyway we still love Daemon and hate Blake and Simon. I love this edition, where you have both books together, you can finish one and immediately start the second one.I love they way the book catch my attention. Definitely you get into the book, into a new world, I started to read and I don't feel the 801 pages long, when I realized the book was done. Still cried in the sad parts, and laughed when Daemon was messing with Kat or Blake.Always when someone ask me to recommend a book, Obsidian and the Lux series are one of my recommendations, doesn't matter the age or the genre Lux series is a perfect match for almost everything.

AMAZING READ
I had this entire series before Harvey struck and destroyed it but I am glad to find it. I highly recommend the read if you love Science Fiction and Romance within the same series. And if you're sketchy about it, don't worry. The romance does nothing to detract from the overall plot of the story, which is basically the usual for books like this. Girl meets boy, girl finds out he's an alien, random stuff leading up to climax of story, end of story. Either way, like I said before. Highly recommend it, just don't listen to a specific song on repeat while listening to it. Now everytime I hear Hopeless Opus by Imagine Dragons I think of this series.

A Must Have For Fans Of This Series
This is a must have for fans of this series! I love that now both Obsidian & Onyx / Opal & Origin are bundled together in two huge, must have, collector books. The bonus content (which is exclusive and never before seen content until now) found at the end of the Obsidian & Onxy, alone is worth adding this book to your shelves. I've read/reviewed and already have a copy of both books, and couldn't help myself by adding this one to my shelf. If you're torn about whether or not to get the hard copy or the paperback, it was totally worth the couple extra dollars to purchase this collection in hard copy! I love that the publisher made that an option. I picked up both the editions, and LOVE the hardcopy one more so than the paperback.

Daemon Black,enough said!
I kept seeing these two books around the internet. People were raving about them. I can watch a sci~fi movie all day long, but when it comes to reading sci~fi,it just wasn't my thing. However, hundreds of people can't be wrong right? So I gave in and read them. I'm so glad I did. I won't lie and say all swooning over Daemon Black across social media didn't have anything to do with me picking up these books. Actually that was what persuaded me to give it a try.Daemon is a hottie, like bring me a fire hose to put out the fire hottie. He's also egotistical. And when Katy becomes the girl next door,he is determined to get under her skin. He does a good job of doing it too. But Katy doesn't take his crap laying down, she can't be a little feisty herself.Things go awry when lets his guard down and saves Katy. This brings trouble, big trouble. Daemon's power has left Katy glowing and I don't mean in a good way. See when Luxen are in their true form, they glow so some of that rubs off on anyone they use their powers on to save. Did I mention it's kinda against the rules to do that? So along with attracting government officials it also attracts the Luxens' enemies. Now they must try to keep Katy as inconspicuous as possible, which means keeping her close to Daemon. That's like putting fire to gasoline, they will either kill each other (figuratively speaking) or finally give in and admit their attraction to each other but they are both stubborn as a mule.
