Gives a somewhat short narration but does emphasize important periods in China's history. Well suited for its age group and cleverly keeps the young readers challenged by concealing an animal that can be found (sort of hidden, like "Waldo") on every page.

Growing up in the West we really do not know enough about China. This is an excellent book.

Beautiful Illustrations of the Great Canal! Really like the little tips that is along the book edge, and the details in each page. It’s a great book that shows the intelligence and hard work in the building of the canal.

Content and figures were fine, but could definitely consider using a better quality of paper. The current used paper is very thin and feels like cheap.

I like this book very much. Very well drawn described the canal along the history. Recommend if you interested in Chinese history.
