Omitree Large 87" Wood Chicken Coop Backyard Hen House 4-8 Chickens Nesting Box & Run

This has only picture diaphragms like Legos to put the coop together. I received a damaged interior door and the roof had a corner of the wood missing. The wood is grooved together with staples and glue. The design matches the one above. This will only hold 3-4 chickens safely.

We've kept backyard chickens for 10 years at our previous house. We just moved and couldn't take our hand-built coop with us. We ordered this, trying to avoid the hassle of building. It arrived yesterday and we immediately unpacked it for assembly. The wood is thin and stapled together, already splintered in some connections. Honestly, I did not expect high quality when I ordered this, but this did not even come close to meeting my expectations. We did not assemble it so I can't speak to the ease of assembly. I'm sure it's quite cute when freshly built, but I can't imagine this lasting even one season, especially not through an upstate New York winter with snow and extreme weather changes. This is going right back to Amazon. If you want an oversized dollhouse for your child's plush chickens, then this is the product for you. But for real use, an absolute no. We will be building again, and while it will cost time, we will be saving money. Save yours and look elsewhere. Or drop the coin needed to get something more substantial.

Overall great coop for max 3 birds. It did come with a broken latch but it was no big deal to fix it. Slightly smaller than expected but has held up well for the year I’ve had it.

Directions did not have very zoomed in images so exact placement of screw and pieces was hard to know. I had to unscrew a few things and adjust once i realized things worked better if the screws were higher/lower2. The small strip that covers the seam where the 2 roof pieces come together was missing from my box (or i lost it while un-packing things). Not hard to come up with a solution in its place.3. The "floor" panel for where the chickens are supposed to lay seems a bit small for the space so i worry about a chicken getting its toes/leg caught in the crevace.Because the coop seems so light I anchored it to the ground just as a precaution if a heavy wind comes.Most problems were minor and fixable. I would say for this price i would probably buy the same coop again.

This item was shipped to my front door in less than 3 days. It arrived in two separate boxes. There were a few wooden pieces that were splintered and broken, but I was able to put them all back together with some wood glue (not a showstopper). The wood smelled of strong pine and the instructions were extremely easy to put together. Resembled a LEGO's blueprint. I was able to assemble within 1-2 hours by myself. This coop can fit 3-4 chicken comfortably. I'm gonna slap some outdoor stain on the wood just in case and for extra protection.

For the price of the product you get what you pay for. I wish the company would not have locks and hinges already attached as it caused the wood to break during shipping. Even when installed there are still gaps in the wood which will be drafty in the winter time. I used wood glue at every joint and attachment and added paint to give it a little more weatherproofing. If you are willing to reattach reglue and reconfigure the coop it's not a bad little Coop for the price. I would not put more than three full size hens in there unless you allow them to free range during the day. If you live in a cold climate you will need to do some serious winterizing to make sure the drafts stay out.

I bought this in September 2019. As I am writing this, it has been about 10 months. Also worth noting that I live in Florida, so it rains a lot. I thought I was getting a good deal for the price and for the most part I was right. However I've noticed that the roof panels have not resisted the onslaught of water that hits my area pretty frequently throughout the year. They're started to mold from the moisture and it's not possible for me to seal it off from more rainwater. The rest of the house is fine and seems pretty resistant. But it's incredibly odd that the roof pieces are not as well equipped to deal with the weather.I fear my investment into this product may not have been worth it. I only suggest buying if you know how to protect wood from water damage.

Pretty good quality for the money. There is not a good way to clean the enclosed house portion however. I'm glad I purchased it. Very good buy.
