I am always eager to explore new products to enhance my DIY candle-making hobby. When I discovered the 230 Pcs Wooden Candle Wicks set, with its promise of crackling wicks and a generous number of included stands, I was excited to try it out. However, my experience has been rather frustrating, leading me to rate this product a single star.From the get-go, I encountered several problems. Most disappointingly, the 'crackling' effect that these wicks were advertised to produce was virtually non-existent. One of the main reasons I chose these wooden wicks was the expectation of a comforting, fireplace-like crackle. Instead, the burning was barely audible, and the promised ambiance was notably missing.The quality of the wicks themselves was also unsatisfactory. Despite their apparent thickness, I found the wicks were burning out faster than I anticipated. The burn time was significantly less compared to other wicks I have used in the past. This rapid burn leads to wastage and undermines the value of the product.Another issue I faced was with the included stands. While the quantity provided was generous, their functionality was problematic. The stands didn't hold the wicks securely, causing them to fall over during the candle-making process. This lack of stability led to the wick being improperly centered and subsequently, a poorly formed candle.The packaging also left much to be desired. The wicks and stands arrived jumbled together, making it difficult to separate and count the pieces. I would have appreciated if the items were separately and neatly packaged for easier use.In conclusion, while the 230 Pcs Wooden Candle Wicks might appear to be a comprehensive and quality option for candle making enthusiasts, my experience was rather disappointing. Issues with the crackling effect, wick quality, stand functionality, and packaging overshadowed the benefits of this product. Please bear in mind that this review is based on my personal experience, and individual results may vary. However, for now, I will be returning to my tried-and-true wick provider.

This is a great set for home candle making but I have noticed that I have a difficult time keeping my wooden wicks burning. I am planning to try to soak them longer next time to see if this improves their burning.

Wicks are pretty thin but directions say to double them. First candle I didn’t and melt pool was too shallow. Second one I doubled and it was perfect. I use 3” diameter concrete vessels.

Some of the wicks do not stay lit, they smoke out. Could be a user error on my part since this was me first time making candles.

I don't have any problems as others were complaining of. I switched from crappy regular wicks that wouldn't stay lit. These work perfectly for my candles. I will buy more.

Amazing for beeswax candles. Here is an insider tip: these work best when cut down the middle. I use them for beeswax candles. There is no soot at all when I use them at half the width with the tabs included in the kit. I’m very pleased and will repurchase. (I couldn’t find any smaller wooden wicks on Amazon, so I used what I had :) I have had success with 3 wick jars and small jars.
