Definitely keeps the bird fecal material off!
We noticed neighbors with these devices on their black mailboxes that seemed to keep in reducing critter fecal matter from collecting on the mailboxes. We purchased this product several months ago and low and be hold the mailbox has been clean. Is the black mailbox the attraction due to its warmth, especially during the cooler months, that attracts the birds to the surface? Who knows but these products seem to work!

They worked very well, installed on top of Reolink camera and out side flood lights, bird's no longer land on them.

No more raccoons
We ended up buying twice. We needed raccoon deterrent and regular bird off products didn't get it. These are spiked enough without gaps to function perfectly. I loved that we can cut it to the size we need. When you open the box it does have a smell of fireworks. There are holes to allow the use of U hooks. All are potted plants have coverage now

End fruit tree invasions!
Delivered on time. Product is good. Packed very tightly, one inside the other, was a little hard separating. Easy installation. Need several end to end to prevent squirrels and cats from leaping over them. Would buy again.

A good security device or deterrent.
The spikes work well if they are installed properly in specified areas. They are plastic and they will break if struck by tree branches, boards, or a solid object.

Ouchie for Raccoons! NOT
Updating this review - Turned out the Raccoon adjusted to these fairly easily. They are no longer effective for keeping the raccoon from sitting on these and reaching over to grab our bird feeder. We had put a lock on the feeder each night so he/she could'n't get into the feeder but sure gave it a try. Possibly removing some of the spikes so it's uneven might help but instead we decided to just bring the feeder inside every night. ____________ We 'had' a raccoon that could reach over and grab our bird feeder. We did close the bird-feeder but he went to gnawing on the wire as an attempt to get to the seed. Nailed two rows of these to a board and put them out on deck railing. Rock Raccoon did attempt to sit on these but obviously was not happy - he chose to jump on the feeder where he was pitched off.......and we have yet to see him return. Looking like these spikes worked like a charm. Thanks to one reviewer that said these kept them off his garage cans. Previously I was going to get the shorter spikes but bought these from that one review. Most spikes have a review that say that squirrels and raccoons are not affected by the spikes. Glad these longer ones came up the last time I searched = we were starting to get so frustrated. Now, in away we miss watching the Raccoon attempt to get at our seed! Suffice it to say these do seem to work on raccoons.!

Great Product-Worked as Advertised
I had a problem with small birds perching on the sill above my door and defecating all over my the landing. I tried one of those realistic owls but the birds just laughed. I purchased the spikes and placed them on the sill using double sided tape. They fit like they were made for the space. About 3:00 am the next morning I heard a "thump" on the door where the bird tried to land and fell off. Bird was not hurt, just mad because they could not perch and crap all over the place. Not had an issue since the spikers were installed!!!
