Why did I wait so long!
We originally bought this for doing dirt work- for building up and grading a dirt pad for our new pole barn but have since used it for several things: like building some indoor horse stalls, lining the horse barn with boards and keeping them level, and hanging gates! Wish I'd gotten one years ago for all the past projects inside and out where it would have saved a lot of time! 2x8x16' boards are rarely straight and without bumps & crowns so the laser level kept us on track when installing horizontally. We used the laser to make a mark at each post where the next row would go then we could force the boards to the mark even if they were bowed. A 4' level on a bowed board just isn't accurate and I hate setting up string levels. When setting posts for then pens we set the laser to the perfect height and eliminated the need for more strings. We were inside so had no trouble seeing the laser but when outside we used the Huepar Laser Detector we purchased at the same time. Later I was hanging some gates by myself while my husband was gone; I used the vertical line option to make sure I got the top and bottom hinges drilled into the post perfectly straight up and down. This tool has made it so much easier to things like this alone. It's like having an extra set of hands telling you what height you need to be at or where plumb is. Sometimes the posts have curves or lumps that make it hard to get a 4' level to lay flat against the post so you can't use it to draw a straight line; but those bumps and curves have no effect on a laser line. Also on the dark creosote posts we used outside, I had a hard time seeing a pencil mark but could see the laser line perfectly. We also bought the Dewalt tripod stand and a grade rod for our projects. This is my first laser level so I have nothing to compare it to, but I love it and can't believe I've been without with as many construction and ranch projects we've done over the years that required multiple strings and levels!

Great Product and Great Customer Service
The laser is great. I ordered the laser and the first one came in and was damaged. Dovoh sent another one to replace it and expedited the shipping for me so that I could keep a scheduled job on track without having to delay it. They were extremely helpful! I would recommend this laser to anyone.

Needs to be exactly perpendicular to wall and on very level surface to be accurate
UPDATE: If you read through my first impressions review below, you will see that I found the laser to be so inaccurate in my application as to be unusable unless I was very precise about positioning. This remains true but I have been puzzling over the physics as to why that might be the case. It seemed to me that a "vertical line should be a vertical line" no matter what angle to the wall. However, if the wall was not plumb in the vertical plane and you aren't perfectly perpendicular to the wall, the laser line would be off to one side or the other depending on whether the wall tilted out or in.Checking that with a plumb bob, the wall I am working on (concrete, up to 24 ft tall) is, in fact, not perfectly vertical. My trigonomics is too rusty to calculate the actual laser line discrepancy. Fortunately, if I take the time to set the laser exactly perpendicular to the wall, it is acceptably accurate. Unfortunately, this is time consuming. As the vendor pointed out you can determine perpendicular by measuring out from the wall at two points (one from where you want your vertical), drawing a line between the two points and then lining up the laser's cross beams on the line you've drawn and your mark on the wall. This works great if you are working from a level surface. For me, unfortunately, this doesn't work since I am working off or uneven ground on the exterior of a building (and dirt so nothing to draw a line on).Hopefully, you don't have the complications I have but, if you do, what came up was: I fabricated a platform that mounts to my tripod and extends out about 18 inches. I set up the tripod so that the platform is roughly parallel to the wall and close to level. The laser has a flat side (without a protrusion for one of the laser lines). Placing that side against the wall with the vertical laser line on your desired mark, you can mark where the vertical laser line crosses the platform and then position your laser on the platform so that the vertical laser lines up with with both the mark on the wall and on the platform. Net result? I was within a sixteenth of an inch at 22 feet up as checked with a plumb bob.Complicated? I'm not done. That flat side on the laser has the switch which prevents it from lying flat against the wall. I taped a flat block to that side to clear the switch. If you aren't an octopus with multiple arms it helps to have a helper. They provide an ingenious mount that works in a lot of situations but what it does NOT do is give you leveling adjustment or the ability to adjust horizontally to get to it perpendicular to the wall. It does provide for vertical adjustment but only if you are attaching it to a vertical surface, not horizontal one like the top of a tripod. The plate I fabricated to mount on my tripod that gives me a wider base to move the laser back and forth on. Since getting that platform level is tricky, I purchased one of the mini tripods to mount the laser on so I had some adjustment to get it within its 4 degree window (the other green laser I tried came with one). That mini tripod has a bubble level but it would be nice if the laser had one itself so you could tell immediately if you were near enough to level. What is my overall feeling about this laser level? The brightness sells it for me. I tried another green laser level and have red one but this one's brightness makes working in daylight (as opposed to indoors) much easier. I am impressed with the overall quality and the customer support has been tremendous, including offers to refund in addition to an extensive exchange on how to resolve my issues. Check out my pros and cons from the initial review below.ORIGINAL POSTThis is the second "self-leveling" laser I have tried and seems to have the same issues as the first one (another brand). It is only accurate in the vertical plane if the laser is perpendicular to the wall. If it comes in at an angle or if the surface it is on is slightly out of level, it can be out of vertical by as much as 4 times greater than their spec for vertical. So, in my application, at 16 ft up, unless It is perpendicular to my mark and dead level, it can be off by nearly 1/2 inch from vertical when I compare it to a plumb line (the spec would be about 1/8 inch). That means that, for each vertical line, I need to reposition the laser to be almost exactly straight out from my mark (perpendicular to the wall) and the tripod I have it on has to be nearly dead level. The latter is difficult since this laser does not have a bubble level to indicate if it is level. It will turn on as long as it is within 4 degrees of level but won't be accurate unless nearly dead level. I have to take the laser off the tripod each time I move it in order to level the mounting surface of the tripod. Here are the pros:> Very bright and the green laser target and glasses provided make it easy to use even in fairly bright light> It has a pulse mode to use if you have an electronic receiver> Operation is simple> The mount provided is ingenious and can be used in a range of applications (mostly useful for horizontal lines though)> It can mount to both standard tripod screw sizes> It comes with 2 batteries> The buttons are easy to operate (the other one I tried had buttons difficult to activate without using enough force to move the laser out of alignment)> The vendor has responded quickly although, so far, hasn't seemed to understand the issue.Other cons:> No remote although that really isn't necessary> Batteries need to charge before you can first use it - took about 4 hours each> As mentioned, no bubble to level> Does not include mini tripod some others have - those tripods have leveling adjustments and a knob you turn to rotate the level to line it up vertically which would seem handy and easier to make fine adjustments except the mini tripod doesn't really help with getting the laser perpendicular to the wallWhat I wish it had (beyond being accurate even if not perfectly aligned to wall):> Since you have to be level and perpendicular to the wall, it needs a mount that can adjust for level and slide the laser parallel to the wall so you can line it up perpendicular without moving your tripod> A bubble level at the top of the laser

Great laser level for an affordable price
The laser level comes in a case, keeping it safe and complete. The laser looks and feels professional and to be used on a construction site, it's waterproof and has a shock proof housing. The range looks really great, still didn't had a chance to test it in daylight but so far it looks very powerful. the bracket is versatile and the thread is suitable for common tripods. I also ordered the Dovoh receiver to be able to have a great range to work.

Easy to use and very bright!
The laser was used to install false beams on a vaulted ceiling. Was able to place the laser in the center of the room and project a bright green line across the entire ceiling.

Good sturdy feel, not visibly brighter than others I have used
I've used this now for several months mostly inside whilst converting a double garage and also to build some decking area outside. It's performed perfectly. It is not any brighter than my previously cheaper different branded model (that failed!) but lasers are only allowed to be so powerful so that's not surprising. This means it's fine indoors and actually on a dull cloudy day I was able to use it effectively outside although I wasn't setup that far away from the walls and fences - maybe 10 feet. ( If you need to use on a bright/sunny day outside you need to buy laser detectors which are designed for this purpose, be nice to see these bundled with these levels)It is a sturdy unit and the fittings/accessories are solid. Nice to have an additional battery although I never needed it, it lasted all day in my use.I don't normally comment on price but it currently has a huge discount from when I ordered it and although I'm very pleased with it even at the original price the current 40% discount makes it a bargain in my opinion.

Very good bit of kit in comparison to competitors!
After using another brand for several years and having nothing but issues. The DIVOH was reccomeded by a friend of the family. And frankly we have had no complaints what so ever! Was very surprised to see how much actually come with the set!It arrived with the level itself, a carry/storage bag, manual, targets, 2 batteries with charger, a wire and a remote control. Was very impressed to see it came with the batteries and also the battery charger! The laser itself is very bright and extremely accurate and without a doubt gives the usually more expensive competitors a run for thier money! Without a shadow of a doubt!Has become a very impressive part of the collection. Very easy to use and set up!Would highly highly reccomend!

stunning and works a treat
Outdoor laser leves are becoming popular for professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike, and The DOVOH High Visibility Laser Level is just the right tool for outdoor activities such as construction, tiling and framing. Simply speaking, it's well made and robust for heavy-duty use.It comes with 12 lines, is capable of 360 degree self-leveling. Amazingly it can cover nearly 200 feet long range, perfect for nearly every project, big or small. One of the outstanding feature is its high visibility. I found it performs well both under the bright sun and in low light conditions, which is perfect for DIY enthusiasts as simplifying life. Sure it is also perfect for professionals due to its high accuracy. The battery life, simply doubled by dual 7.4V 2600mAH lithium batteries. It supports up to 8 hours of full operation, but due to the back up battery, it's fairly easy to recharge while working hence it can be always on.I'm happy with the 5 year warranty, peace of mind, right?. Overall, top quality, great versatility and a great investment that will ensure perfect projects.

Excellent bit of kit, price is a bit of a sticking point
Firstly I'd like to state that this laser level works fantastically well for a relatively unknown brand, the lines are very bright and crisp with decent accuracy and easy to setup and use, it is well made and the materials used don't feel cheap like some others. You get everything needed to get up and running straight away with 2 power packs and a charger to keep you working all day without stopping. Everything is stored in a sturdy case and for an expensive tool you'd want to keep it protected so this is definitely a plus point. Now for the slight issue with this particular model, it kind of sits in a bit of a grey area with regards to it's use versus price point, it most likely won't be finding a great deal of use in a professional environment as that is already catered for by the big name brands, but because of the relatively high price point it struggles to be a justifiable purchase for the amateur DIY enthusiast which leaves it in a kind of limbo, Dovoh themselves offer a much cheaper model that does almost everything this one does at around half the price so it does feel like it's difficult to justify the large price hike for something that sits in a fairly competitive market. If it was a good chunk cheaper I'd give this 5 stars all day long, especially if the 5 year accuracy guarantee is any good if it comes to it, but as it stands there's cheaper options out there even from the same company that do the job just as well so for that reason it's a solid 4 if you can afford the extra outlay.

Pro quality and reasonably priced
This is almost half the price of big brands but gives you same accuracy and build quality is not bad. Came very well packed and was easy to assemble and use. Bright green laser can be seen on any surface colour. 2x rechargeable 2600mAh batteries can gives you nearly 16hrs operating time. This is perfect for professionals and they can compare this product with any big brands and can get same accuracy and build quality.Overall pro quality product, nicely packed in carry case. At the time of review this product was available for £169.99 with extra £20 off voucher.
