Going Wild (Going Wild, 1)

I'm always looking for good stories for my grandchildren to read. Lisa does a great job with young reader books. She seems to understand the thought process of kids at different age levels and can write to their mentality. Going Wild is a great example of that. She also blends science with fantasy into a really compelling story. I can't wait to read the next book - it should be in my mailbox today!

After reading the Unwanted series, I looked forward to this book. While I did enjoy the book,I consider it lighter reading than the Unwanted.It didn't seem to have the fast pace and character depth. As this is the first in the series perhaps it will pick up in the future books.I do look forward to checking the rest of this series.

I did not personally read this, but my ten year old got it for his tenth birthday. He flew through it and loved it. He ended up getting his first 100/A on a book review after struggling to write book reviews. He very much enjoyed it. For reference, he is a big fan of all of Rick Riordan's work.

Lisa McMann does a wonderful job creating characters and plots that suck you in. The nice thing is you don't have to learn a different language to understand the book. So many fantasy books create their own language or jargon that it's hard to get into the book right from the start.

I love all the characters in this thrilling novel. My favourite character is Maria because she is a great friend to Charley.

I love her books just in general they keep you guessing till the very end.

An awesome book! Started off a little slow, but within the first few chapters, the action got exciting! This book is really great and I recommend it to people of all ages, especially people who like superpowers and a mix of superpowers.

My son loves this book. He's usually bored with books and not real into them. However when we downloaded this, he's been doing his nightly reading without fuss!
