Dead at Six months.
Initial reaction is extremely positive. Excellent at this price. Super value. Great build quality, the aluminum top is nice and the keys are very nice. Not cheap feeling plasticky keys. This is my first experience with the gateron reds and they are awesome. Wouldn't use them for typing regularly (I've made about five hundred typos doing this review), but for quick reaction they are great. My only negative right now is that you have to maneuver the Chinese Rantopad site to track down the software.UPDATE:Completely dead after 6 months. No power consumption nothing. Just randomly died while the Rantopad software was initializing on my PC. Tried on other PC's and Xbox one. No response, completely non-functional. The good, after about a week of correspondence with Rantopad they have agreed to refund the board through Amazon. Amazon emailed me the UPS return slip and so it is getting sorted. However, the board was ten dollars cheaper when I bought it, so the return doesn't even cover the cost of the replacement. Really dissapointing as I did enjoy the board and the Gateron red switches are fantastic. Will have to shell out more money for a higher end board now, but for the price of this one it is hard to find another gateron red TK with aluminum top plate and fully customizable RGB with software. I just can't justify spending another $10 to get the same exact board again and risk it going out in six months again.

Got it today and pretty happy with it so far
The other reviewer had a good summary. I'll say it was a little difficult to find the software (it is on the Chinese version of their website and the download link goes to a Dropbox type Chinese site -- google translate actually doesn't load the download site for me so I went through it untranslated) and it seems the current version doesn't allow for single key color customization. The software lets you do macro's, key assignments, advanced lighting, and is in English despite not being available on their English site right now for some reason.Without the software there's still plenty you can do, there's a single color mode which you can change quite a lot or you can stick with the rainbow variant and there's a bunch of different rainbow variations as well as feedback options for both single color and rainbow modes such as pressing down on a key will cause others around it to dim or rainbow other colors. It takes a little figuring out since the manuals are not in English but there is *some* English in there and the key combinations for functions are there. If you ask their support for a manual they will send you one in English via email. Their customer support is a bit odd but after I called and didn't get through to anything (no automated system or person) they called me back minutes later and helped me out.The keyboard itself seems pretty nice so far. Typing on it now. It's my first mechanical keyboard and so far for this price I'm impressed. It is a bit louder than I expected from the brown gateron's but then this is the first time using or trying anything other than a razer blackwidow green in the store. I want to say it's a bit louder than that but maybe the store masked out some of the widow's volume. Playing Overwatch with headphones though I can't say I noticed it. I'll probably get used to it when just typing. All the keys I've tried so far in typing this out seem to have a consistent trigger point, feel, etc. Also I like that a key doesn't have to be pressed down very far to register a keypress. I have pretty small hands but I think even larger ones wouldn't cause a key to depress when simply resting them on the homerow. All in all I think it's a very fine board for the price if you can workaround the manuals being mostly in another language. If something changes for the worst you can bet I'll come back here.edit: someone below helped me figure out that these were indeed genuine Gateron brown's so I removed a thing.

Want a RGB keyboard with smoother switches than Cherry MX browns?
Rantopad was founded in 2004, and their goal is to manufacture the best quality gaming gear for affordable prices. In this case they do just that. This keyboard has MX cherry stabilizers and a STMicroelectronics 32-bit ARM processor under the hood which is more than enough power for any keyboard. The build quality is also up to par with their goal of meeting excellent quality for the price, a very attractive aluminum base plate and a sturdy plastic shell that gives the keyboard great rigidity. The aluminum base plate and plastic shell helps keep the keyboard weight down while not compromising any quality. Here are the pro’s and con’s:Braided removable USB, lets you connect longer USB cable, and if you have any connection issues you can simply get another cable. The PCB is a FR4 to insure durability and stability under any temperature, although this board runs cool. The keyboard is rated at 100ma, and 5 volts, which is another amazing thing about this keyboard. The CPU that is used in this keyboard is very powerful, while not demanding a huge amount of power. Which at the end of the day keeps the keyboard running cool. The tenkeyless design perfect for gamer’s or anyone who would appreciate more space on their desk or even a laptop user. Since the USB cable is removable you can put this keyboard in your laptop bag and take it with you on the go.The Gateron Brown switches are phenomenal, extremely smooth and pretty quiet. People prefer the Gateron brown switches over the Cherry MX switches because of the smoothness, and tactile feel. The bottoming out thing seems to be the only thing that makes any noise. Which can be fixed with sound dampers. (I will be putting one in the space bar.)The key caps seriously feel premium like they have more than four layers of the coating they advertise, which makes me feel confident about the ABS key caps. The coating has a rather unique feel. I want to write that the coating has anti-slip feel, but it doesn’t; if feels as it does though. Which to me is another plus. I still ordered custom double shot keycaps. The RGB light is really bright, I like to keep all of my keyboards at around 75% brightness, and with this keyboard I can say 75% is more than enough for me. The 75% brightness if even bright enough for day time use or any brightness that occurs within the day. This keyboard is perfect of anyone who wants a great quality RGB keyboard for a budget price. The software is really easy to use, and it is in English. I don’t know how to turn on the EQ mode, but with time I’ll learn. Today is my first day, of having this keyboard. I like how you can set macros, and have the keyboard set any color for each key. (I can link the download page.)The packaging quality is exceptional, but I wish the keycap puller, and the Fluorescent yellow cable tie weren’t there. So they could add a better keycap puller. Either way, the one it brings isn’t a deal breaker. The con’s are pretty simple:The manuals are not in English, and you can’t alter the height of the keyboard. My personal con, is that I choose the wrong switches.I should of gotten the blue Gateron switches instead of brown. The brown are a bit too smooth, and it causes me to make typos. I wanted to at least try Gateron browns so I bought this keyboard. If you are not a pro typer or a noob with mechanical keyboards, do yourself a favor and get the Gateron blue switches. Unless you have light hands.

Great for the price!
Way better than expected for the price. We got the blue switches, which were clicky (it's what the kid wanted) but this also bottoms out like reds to, so you have both clicky and...

Horrible chinese software, bad customization options, but solid build quality.
Great Quality keyboard, if all you were looking for was a keyboard. I however was looking for a rgb customizable keyboard, which isnt exactly what this is.

Buy a different keyboard
Cannot recommend, the keyboard I received was a pain from the start and only got worse. I will say that the lighting is ok, and the Gateron brown switches are fine.

Looks great. Plus it works. But software brings it down.
This keyboard is fine.I am torn on it because it looks fantastic and is a decent price. It is also very physically functional.
